Hot ballclub with some good arms, and a difference maker in center field, the AL is not nearly as tough as the NL.  Wonder what their odds are to win the AL pendent, might be a good play.  Many teams of recent year, most notable the Braves last year proved October is all about putting the lightning in the bottle.    I'd never root for an AL team though personally, filthy thinking about it ? 1 Quote

We're all repenting in the offseason however, and the Shift is being outcasted to the land of fire.  The saints have also decided to give us a pitch clock. 1 Quote

I guess I can wait a few hours for the brooms to come out! 1 Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted October 3, 2022 Super User Posted October 3, 2022 Felt like two teams going in opposite directions.....magic is everything when the air gets snappy, could Braves catch it again, I'm ready for another magical ride that's for sure.  1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted October 3, 2022 Super User Posted October 3, 2022 They lost their perennial MVP-candidate 1B to free agency, Acuña who is potentially their best hitter has been on and off the field all year with injury, and same with Ozuna, and Albies has been hurt all year. And the offense still hasn’t missed a beat.  Strider should take ROY.  Told my girlfriend to get ready for another Braves postseason and she is not thrilled. I drove her crazy screaming at the TV, pacing back and forth last year. I didn’t miss a single second of their games, and I don’t think I sat down for a single second either. Especially during the Dodgers series and the Luke Jackson almost-fiasco. 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted October 3, 2022 Super User Posted October 3, 2022 Love this time of year. Sox are out of it but I'll be watching as much as I can. Â On a sad note, Dennis Eckersley will be retiring from the Sox booth on Wednesday. Man, was he funny! 3 Quote

There is a beautiful poem that related Baseball to the changing seasons.....  Something like when Baseball season starts, it coincides with all the beauty emerging from winter in nature, and when Baseball finally ends, the darkness of winter descends upon us, and everything dies back for the winter. I remember reading it right after the Braves won last year and can't remember a poem hitting home as well as that one.  Dang I wish I could find it.  1 Quote

The brightside for them is the fact that they should be very used to this exact thing!  I live in Mets Fan country, so I can wear my Atlanta gear and silently remind the Mets fans around me who the NL East belongs to. It’s always been ATL! 1 Quote
