I thought Sanchez was sending them to game 5 when he hit that sac fly on a pitch that was clearly supposed to be a up but ended up right over the heart of the plate, he got real lucky on that one. I thought Torres might be safe on the last out too, that was a heck of stretch to stay on the bag to get the out. Doesn't get much more exciting to watch than that finish. 2 Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted October 2, 2019 Super User Posted October 2, 2019 I’m kinda surprised this thread has been inactive for the entire 2019 season. One more game for two “Bay Area” teams and I’m going with these guys * Congratulations to the Rays. Another disappointing Wild Card exit for the A’s, but that’s baseball. Spring training starts in 5 months.... Quote
VolFan Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 My Nats vs the Stros in the Series - who ya got? I think its going to be a better series than Vegas thinks. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 22, 2019 Global Moderator Posted October 22, 2019 The Astros are the better club I think and they can really feed off each other if they get hot. Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted October 31, 2019 Super User Posted October 31, 2019 Congrats to the Washington Nations 2019 World Series Champions ~ The Washington Nationals were trailing until they weren’t. They were, true to form, down but not done. The late-May misfits and National League Wild Card Game winners roundly expected to be a quick October exit had, with one swing of the bat from the 36-year-old Kendrick, taken the lead they would not relinquish in a 6-2 victory in Game 7 of the World Series against the Astros on Wednesday night at Minute Maid Park. They claimed their franchise’s first crown and completed a clean sweep for the road clubs in a first-of-its-kind Fall Classic. Wow - very exciting - and I did not have a dog in the race just a Baseball fan - A-Jay 2 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 1, 2019 Global Moderator Posted November 1, 2019 It was an exciting series. I felt bad for Grienke. Being a Royals fan, he put up with so much bad baseball for those 7 years, to get so close and pitch (and field), so well just to have the rest of the pitching staff give it away. Quote
VolFan Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 It really was exciting to watch - I went bananas on that Kendrick homer. I also felt bad (relatively) for Greinke. He was dealing for 80 pitches and then got pulled after a few bad ones, and not for Cole. Didnt make sense butworked out great for my Nats! Quote

But we might see a league wide batting average take a trip down below the Mendoza Line . . . Perhaps the Season Long MLB HR Derby and Launch angle BS will level off. Ball might not seem as 'juiced' in 2020 when the batters are back to guessing what's coming at them. #bushleague A-Jay Quote

It’s in the books and penalties have been levied, it just makes a point of conversation. The Mendoza Line, loved the reference but maybe .050 up from there @A-Jay. And spring training starts in a little over a month from now 1 Quote

Super User Boomstick Posted January 19, 2020 Super User Posted January 19, 2020 As a lifetime Red Sox fan, I am so disappointed with Cora and team management for sign stealing. It's even more disappointing than the amount of motivation the 2019 team showed... Quote
JohnFromLisbon Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Not gonna lie, in the midst of all this, being able to sit down and watch the Sox play makes me think that maybe - just maybe - it’s all gonna be okay Even if I’m watching them play in an empty Fenway Park from 3200 miles away ? 3 Quote
Super User Teal Posted July 26, 2020 Super User Posted July 26, 2020 Glad to watch my Nats play again. Due to all the antics, I don't turn it on till well into the first inning. Quote

And Weber's pitching... Jeez (not that the bullpen helped either). At least we got to see JBJ go full Kevin-Costner-in-The-Bodyguard in the outfield, that's always cool. Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted July 28, 2020 Super User Posted July 28, 2020 For over 55 years - Baseball Was Summer for me - Well, it happened quickly - three games into it. I went from, "I just can't wait to watch the Red Sox play !" To "I just can't watch the Red Sox play !" The whole empty ball parks with no fans, the canned crowd noise and the card board cut outs of people in the seats ? Just Bizzaro - Don't take me out to any ball game. ? A-Jay 1 Quote

Guitarfish Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 I watched one game and kind of went, 'What the heck, fake crowd noise'? The same reason I don't watch TV comedy. Hilarious laughter and nothing really funny happened. I'm taking a pass on all sports until the only Corona I hear about is beer. Quote
