Im looking to add 2 new fish finders to my boat and cant decide on what I want to do but this is what I am thinking. On the front of my boat I was going to add the Humminbird Helix 7 DI with sonar also considered doing SI but thinking I would not use that feature as much on the front of my boat. At the console I was thinking about either a Helix 7 or Helix 9 with SI w/GPS leaning towards Helix 9 cause of autochart with SI DI GPS. Any opinions would greatly be appreciated.

Ive owned the Helix 5 sonar/gps since it first came out and Just last week I upgraded to a Helix 7 DI/gps....

Great finders, and well worth the money. My 5 had the snot beat out of it on a kayak and never missed a beat. The 7 just looks amazing and seems far larger than 7 inch.

Go with the 9 at the console. My buddy got the unit without the gps and when you're running a lake like KY lake without a good gps things get scary. We had navionics on our phones but it was still pretty hairy not knowing if we were exactly above the cut in the channel or dangerously close to the shallows. In normal conditions it was fine to run blind but when the rain hit and you could only see a few boat lengths I really wished we had a solid gps unit.
