I'm looking to buy some more jerkbaits, but would like to find a decent one for under ten dollars.  I've tried the RSTX and like them, but would like to find something cheaper.  Any suggestions?

Smithwick Rouge. They offer both suspending and floating models in different sizes. Their Perfect 10 has gotten a lot of positive feedback.

Bomber Suspending Long A is the best shallow runner imo for the price, and the Rogue is also right up there...Those 2 are the one's I mainly use and the Timmy Horton Pro Long A's in his G Finish colors are like $4.99, have 3 T3 Excaibur hooks or I think know they changed to Mustad or another good brand, and the long A does a roll when suspended that is unique and you can fish it from 1-5 feet, maybe deeper...

Rogues are great as well, they make a bunch of sizes, but I think those 2 are the best deal when it comes to "Ready to fish out of the box"...The Academy brand Megabass knock offs that say Floating on the website for $3.99 I think are acutally suspending, I ordered a bunch thinking they were FLoaters and wanted that design, but they are certainly not floaters....

The Long A casts a mile as well.....You can also find deals on the Yo-zuri Suspenders these days as well...I am not a huge Suspending Jerkbait guy, but I have had days where those Sashimi jerkbaits work well, and the Bomber Long A is one of my top 5 lures, usually the floater, but that is the first suspender I tie on, I use the Rogue for a slimmer profile or if I need to get a bit deeper....The Rapala X Rap is another good one you can find for sub $7 online, and I have a friend who loves to fish those like a crankbait and he kills them on that lure all summer...I think the color he uses is Olive shiner?

Storm Twitch Stick is $5.99 on TW..............it is a slow riser and not a true suspending bait...........but a suspend dot just forward of the front hook hanger makes them (at least all the ones I have) suspend in a nice "nose down fashion in 40 degree water.

I have two pointers, and half a dozen mid to low end jerkbaits in my box. Guess which ones produce fish.

Academy has their jerk shad that looks a lot like the Luck E Strike STX, but it's only $6. Not as many color options, but it covers the basics. I've had good luck with them.

KVD Strike King comes in at right about $10, I got one and I've been using it recently. I like it better than the Shadow Rap in terms of build quality (that is another one under $10).

Another favorite of mine are the Castaic BDJs. Real slim profile like the Megabass 110s, has a nice action and a few colors to choose for $7.

The Bomber Suspending Long A has worked well for me on a number of trips.

The least expensive that I've used and really like is the Storm Twitch Stick, they have great hooks out of the box and they are fish catchers. I found that the size 10 suspends pretty good, the smaller size 8 floats a little faster than what a suspending bait should so a single suspendot works well. They came out and were $4.99 but they put out some more colors and added to the cost, I have a dozen of them and I think they are awesome but they also have some heft at 5/8oz. Rogues are one of my favorites but there are so many models that it is hard to know what you should get, I recommend the Elite 8 and the Cabela's exclusive G-Finish rogue, they are between $5.99 and $6.99 most of the time and suspend well and are great fish catchers, the black glass and Tennessee Shad have been outstanding in clear water.

Cabelas still has Lucky Craft on sale for $6.99/ea, and that includes some pointers.

Dicks clearance section often has a few random pointers for ~$9.97.  buy enough to use their $10 off $50 coupon and it makes them even cheaper.  Used Pointers are often sold for $6-9.

Aside from those the Rapala's mentioned above are great.

I bought a few of the Evolve Baits Soul5 SoulJerk 115 that I plan to try this year. I haven't fished them yet but I have heard good things about them. I picked them up for $3.99 which I thought was a good price.

There are many out there for less than $10. that work very well. They've been suggested here already. I have many of many different brands, including the Pointer series. I've yet to find one that works better than the original X-Rap. But then again, I'm mainly fishing for smallies.
