My wife bought a couple Ghost rods a med crankbait and hvy. I have been trying to pair reels to it for her but I can't find one that balances the rod. These rods seem very tip heavy. I have tried quantum Exo, quantum team kvd, 13 A, bass pro carbonlite, bass pro bionic, Abu Revo S. Nothing seems to counter the tip heaviness. What reels are you using on the Ghost rod?

Lews was the next brand I was going to try next.

On a crankbait rod what difference would it make?  I fish them tip down?

I fish the same way. My wife on the other hand holds the rod straight out. And frankly she kicks my butt when we are cranking. I'm just trying to find a reel that will make her happy.

There is almost no physically noticeable difference between 6.3:1 and 6.8:1...

Yeah, I have a couple Ghosts and don't feel they are tip heavy compared to 90% of the other rods I have felt off the shelf.  The 6'10" M is balanced the most in that line, but a little flimsy imo.  I think any matte black Lews goes well with the white blank.

I only use Denali and it seems they are a helluva lot more balance than My wife's ghosts. However you are correct that they balance better then other overly produced rods.

The theory of balancing a rod with a reel will never go away.  Small amount of weight in the a** end will solve the problem.  My Ghost is not tip heavy imo, but I have never felt a custom rod and how they compare in balance.
