FrogginOhio Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I have a st croix mojo bass spinner bait model. Now is that rod only used for spinnerbaits? I've never really heard anything about them. Could they be used for other technique fishing? Quote
Allen Der Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I'd use it for chatterbaits and soft plastic swimbaits too. also 1/2 oz or 3/4oz inline spinners for Pike. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Technique specific labels are only suggestions. The power and action and lure weight rating would give an idea what else it would work for. 2 Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted March 19, 2016 Super User Posted March 19, 2016 All rods are technique specific rods. All rods are multi purpose rods. You get to decide. Glad I could help Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted March 19, 2016 Super User Posted March 19, 2016 IMHO, for 90% of bass fishing technique specific rods are not needed.............however, there are two techniques that require specialized gear.............Punching heavy vegetation, and deep cranking with big plugs. Everything else is personal preference. Quote
Robert Riley Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, swimjigs, and small swimbaits will work on that rod! Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted March 19, 2016 Super User Posted March 19, 2016 Don't listen to these guys! If you use it for anything other than spinnerbaits, it will explode! Hootie 3 Quote

That model rod is a good of all around rod, so I definitely wouldn't limit it to just spinnerbaits Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 20, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 20, 2016 I had that rod for awhile and it made a pretty good pitching rod around sparse cover. Honestly felt it was too stiff to fish a spinnerbait very well. Quote
