Tery Songz Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 ok have you seen em? because im sure im not the only one who has seen a little thing spin like a donkey with a carrot helmet around the darn pond LOL Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 19, 2016 Super User Posted March 19, 2016 Another fabrication? I am VERY familiar with Grove. I have never seen a donkey with a carrot helmet swimming in the pond, running through the forest or resting on the bank. However, when I was there yesterday I did see signs of the St. Patrick's Day party...unicorn tracks, pixie dust and a few gold coins that the Leprechauns left behind. 2 Quote

Super User BassinLou Posted March 19, 2016 Super User Posted March 19, 2016 I think what you may have seen is a type of water beetle or water bug. They spin around in tight circles. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 19, 2016 Super User Posted March 19, 2016 I wonder how this thing made its way to Grove: https://www.yahoo.com/news/alien-deep-winged-green-eyed-creature-stuns-fishermen-192600261.html 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 19, 2016 Super User Posted March 19, 2016 I haven't a clue where "The Grove" is located. No home location or other information given on your avatar. Please add it. If you can catch one of the bugs I am sure your state's department of game and fisheries can tell you what you are seeing. Some type of bug's eggs hatched and their young are on top of the water getting ready to sprout wings and fly away. Give your game and inland fisheries a call and ask for assistance. I am sure they can clear up the matter. Otherwise, fish below them just in case the bass are tracking them. Good luck and let us know what you find out. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 20, 2016 Super User Posted March 20, 2016 Grove is a Germantown, TN public park. The ribbing is due to some previous posts. Smallmouth bass do not live in ponds around here (too hot) nor do Peacock bass (too cold). Quote
MFBAB Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Fear not Dos Equis fans! We have a new most interesting man in the world!! - When he sees a bug, it becomes a " weird/fish/demon " - When he catches a 4lbr it becomes an 8, maybe 10! - He stocks and catches smallmouths and peacocks in Memphis! - He has reported that the spawn is over and done in Memphis....before the fish even knew it had started. Fish are clamoring to attack the lures of this fascinating faceless wonder! Hide your women and children from #theGrovemonster!! This is riveting. Seriously, whats the deal? Did somebody get banned and come back from the dead or what? TS, sorry if you're a real person, but you've got to admit, you're sort of begging for it with these farcical posts. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted March 20, 2016 Super User Posted March 20, 2016 The pond was "stocked" by the Wolf River during the recent flooding. Quote

MFBAB Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Terry, I've been on about 10 different ponds in the area within the last 2-3 weeks, and I'm just now seeing even shad and minnows showing up along the bank. Everything I've been catching has been showing distinct signs of being on a late winter/pre-spawn pattern: bleached out, sluggish, and cold to the touch, my fish are almost all coming from deeper water, not on the bank-and not for lack of trying there either I also take temp readings everywhere I fish, and lastly, every female I've caught so far is still full of eggs as of 2 days ago. Congrats on your fish. I'll admit I am always a little jealous when someone posts a pic of a solid bass! I haven't had anything bigger than this 6.75 (weighed) in the last couple of days myself! Have fun, sorry about busting your chops. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 20, 2016 Super User Posted March 20, 2016 Only 6.75? Man, that sucks! Quote
MFBAB Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Hey, we all have our off days once in a while. Did I say off? I meant awesome How's the fishing been in that mud puddle we call Grove? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 21, 2016 Super User Posted March 21, 2016 Still muddy, but the crappie are pretty active. Quote
