ziofester96 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Hi guys, i'd like to know the difference between these 2 rods. Is it only the 1 inch difference in lenght? My use would be reaction baits like mid cranks, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, soft swimbaits etc.... I would be pairing it with a Daiwa T3 MX. In Europe is impossible to find the 711 MHRB, eventually I would ship it from the U.S. would it be worth it to pay shipping and taxes for the 711? Thanks for the help Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 What's the other rod? I only see one mentioned. Never mind I see it in your tags above. Yes it looks like are exactly the same except 1" different size. Quote
ziofester96 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 It's written in the tag.... The comparison is between 721MHRB and 71MHRB both are tatulas Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Personally I would pick the 7'2" for the given applications you mention. Quote
ziofester96 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 Its strange because it seems that the 711 is dedicated only to us market, not even in japan is sold Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 What about the St Croix Avid Neo 7'1 from the St Croix website. It's basically the same as Rage. http://stcroixrods.com/shop/freshwater/avid-neo-casting-rods/ Others had reported on here calling St Croix and getting 2 poles for around $100 or so. Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 You wouldn't want the regular blank on the Tatula anyway. You'd want the Fast action. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Daiwa-TAT711MHXB-Tatula-Rods-B-Cast/36009105 Quote
ziofester96 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 It'n not a true regular like an american rod would feel Quote

ziofester96 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 I'd like to see some comments written by people who tried both rods 8 hours ago, Fishin' Fool said: From what I understand regular in Japanese rods is more like a moderate action in American rods. Intresting thread, thx Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted March 19, 2016 Super User Posted March 19, 2016 I have the 771 mrb and I found the regular action to be more like a mod fast to fast. I stopped using it for crankbaits but the action would be good for spinnerbaits and the like. Quote
ziofester96 Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 I would Like to understand it the differenze is only 1 inch or there is more Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Yes the only difference between the 711mhrb and the 721mhrb is 1" in length. The both are rated for 1/4 to 1 ounce lures. Same rod otherwise. It is curious to why make the same rod only 1" different. Quote
ziofester96 Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 I just hope that somebody who shad em both would join the discussion Quote
