How does this reel stack up vs curados? They retail for $250 but are everywhere on eBay for $150. I handled one in field and stream and I loved the feel of it, what is everyone else's opinion about the reel? Should I go with this to try it out, or a curado 70? Btw I own 4 200i curados already

The exo is phenomenal. You will love casting it. The drag is good too. I love these reels.

Yeah, I endorse the sentiment on the EXO's so far.  I have two, 100 sizes and LOVE THEM!  I did not pay the $250 for them so, yes, you are on the right track keep looking around.  I believe Quantum is coming our with a Rev. 2 of them soon so, the prices of current ones should drop.

The first couple of casts when you are starting out with the reels can be a little tricky.  The bearings spin up a lot faster then most reels.  Put the indicator about half way (in the side plate of the reel) and about 1/2 on the tension knob.  After a couple of confidence casts start playing.  Put a 1/2oz rattle trap on it and enjoy.

(Yes, Cabela's had them for $99 on Black Friday, I think they are all gone though.)

I dont know anything about the new Curado 70's, it's a Curado, I am sure it will be good.

I'm not a Shimano guy, so can't give you an opinion about the newer Curado's.  I can say from my experience with my friends Shimano's, I'll take my EXO's any day.  Do I like them, yes.  I have 3 of the 300 series, 3 of the 200 series, and I think 6 of the 100's (might be 7).  All speeds in the 100's.  They work great, smooth, and light. So I guess you can say I like the EXO line of reels from Quantum.

Gulf is the best to answer that question, but I know the 200 7.3 to 1 IPT is on par with an 8 to 1 IPT reel.

Is $150 the best deal you can find them for right now? And the only one I've ever handled was a 100, are the 200 still featherlight?

The 200's come it right around 6.7oz.  The 300's right at 7.5. Here are a few specs on the reels

100's

5:4.1 24 IPT

6:6.1 27 IPT

7:1.1 31 IPT

200's

5:4  26 IPT

6:6  28 IPT (I believe)

7:1   34 IPT

The 300's are the same as the 200's just a bit wider.

Watch the bid items and you may be able to get them right around $110-130 for all the sizes.

As for your question if the 200's are just as good.  Yes, they are.  They hold a lot of line and come in at the same weight as some smaller reels.  The added line cap. lends itself to the following uses for me.  I use the 7:3 as a flip/frog reel and use the other two ratio's for deep cranking, A-rigs,  Rat's (Spro 40 size), and swimbaits under 3oz's.  The 300s are my large swimbait reels and there's a huge difference when you pick up a 300 size reel that weights in at 7.5 oz and fish 4-6oz swimbaits all day instead of something that comes in close to 10-12oz.

sad part is that the quantum exo is being discontinued. They say they are coming out with something even better.

I've seen a lot of issues with the reel seat on the exo's breaking. That being said I do think the EXO is a great reel at the $150 price tag. If you can grab a Curado 70XG for $190 on ebay I think its well worth the $40 difference. Just make sure you flush all the grease out of the internals when you get it and put only one drop of oil inside. They come packed with grease from the factory because they don't plan on you ever doing any maintenance to the reel.

I thought they we're releasing a gen 2 Exo like they did the smoke? I hope the New line is just as good.

I hope so. They wouldn't give any details.

The only issue I heard was the riveted reel foot breaking.  If they fix that issue then I'm sure they will be good sellers again.

Wonder what they have on tap for rods.  They have discontinued many of their rods and their pro's are using old stuff even at the classic this year...

I like mine Exo well enough. It is a tad loud, and it's got a bit of boat rash despite getting a reel cover every time it goes into storage. The cast control seems to be a bit touchy, but once you get it dialed in it's good to go. I like it well enough to probably buy another one.
