it's not for everybody, nor for every presentation either.  other than my jig rod, i only use it as a leader.  i have straight 16# sniper on the jig rod and treat it with some KVD line conditioner and it performs pretty well!

I bought into the hype of flouro as a main line and hated it. I do like it as a leader. Now I use straight braid, braid with a flouro leader, or straight CXX and it's so much more manageable.

As was stated earlier, if it doesn't seem to work for you, then don't use it and instead use something you're more comfortable with. The freedom of choice is part of what is great about fishing. That said, I'll still take the seemingly unpopular position that the line (fluorocarbon) isn't the issue in most cases. It's the angler or the setup.

Some people like it, but you don't "need" it to be successful. Try using fluorocarbon as a leader and see if that makes any difference.

Exactly what I was thinking. I use braid with a FC leader..

14 or 16# Sunline Sniper. I can't tell much difference than using mono. Don't need no line conditioner.

I gave a couple of straight fluorocarbon lines a try and didn't care for them.  But I still use fluorocarbon every fishing day as leaders for the braided lines on most of my bait casters and about half of my spinning reels.  The reels that aren't spooled with braid are spooled with a co-poly (Yo-Zuri or P-Line)).

I'll try flourocarbon again at some point.

Tight lines,

The only FC I can use without  getting excommunicated is Tatsu

Yeah, and once you fish Tatsu you're spoiled for life!
