If you use lure wraps, what brand do you like?

These are to keep hook(s) on a lure on your rod n reel from getting tangled by other rods and stuff.

I don't use lure wraps but I do use hook bonnets for the same reason. I wish I'd started using them a long time ago.

I do for anything with treble hooks. Works well to keep them from tangling with other rods or getting hooks stuck through my rod gloves.

i do, only for treble hook baits.  i often put my rods in the front of my truck when hauling the kayak or if staying overnight somewhere.  the lure wraps have saved the cloth seats on my truck from getting gouged with the trebles, let alone my hands!

I don't use wraps but I do use the Owner Safety Caps to cover my trebles.  I buy them in bulk online for pretty cheap, and use them on pretty much every treble, it makes organizing so much easier/faster and you don't have to worry about the hooks ruining the finish on lures.

Are the rod glove ones red? I want something for my hooks also as I'm a co-angler and read on TW that the red rod glove ones bleed onto your hard baits permanently staining them. Also what brand are you other guys using? And you guys using the bonnets, how do you attach your lure to the hook keeper with those on? Thanks

Yes, I use I believe the 6 inch red rod wraps that are pictured below. These are a life saver for me. I get so frustrated /w treble hooks hooking on other rods and on the carpet in my boat on the deck and rod locker. I use a lot of higher end treble hook baits (Lucky Craft, Ricos, Yellow Magic) /w these rod wraps and I've never had a bleeding issue. Mine also never really get wet and can't imagine a scenario  they would unless you drop your rod in the water.  I use hook bonnets as well but only when storing in plano boxes. Tangled up baits are annoying and these little devils are an inexpensive gift from god. I buy mine from Cabelas for 9.99 for 60. No idea if they are available online. I  buy them in store.

I usually pick whatever lure wraps are being handing out at tackle shows. Pepper lures had some between 5" to 12" long, black and well made. Still have several of the old pig blanks used for pork rind jig trailers.

Don't use treble hook bonnets, probably should.

I have 3 or 4 each of three different kinds; thin red vinyl (beckman, maybe?), thick, somewhat stiff (triggerx) and med/thin blue.  All work just fine, though the thin ones can get poked through on rare occasion.  I can't find any of those three for sale at the moment, but I wouldn't hesitate to get whatever is cheap via ebay/amazon.  Just get a couple different sizes.   When I don't use them, I can guarantee getting a hook stuck in a backpack, rod glove, pfd, car seat, wife, etc.  I highly recommend getting and using a few.

With the bonnets, I'll keep one treble exposed and on the hook keeper, but will keep bonnets on the other 1 or 2 trebles.

The reviews state that this happens to soft plastics. I don't think it'd happen to hard baits.

I use the ones from BPS. It may be the only thing I by from them much anymore. They also help keep the hooks from beating up the blank some along with not tangling other things in the boat or while in transport.

Guess wet from rain? Re read TW review and yes it only says soft baits.

Has anyone tried the eye surrender wraps and their A rig wrap? If not which are you using for treble and A rigs?

I don't use it for softbaits, sorry. I only use it for rods that have treble hook baits attached. Never had an issue /w bleeding /w them being rained on.

Just put the red ROD GLOVE WRAPS in a bucket, with dawn dish soap, and hot water. Let them soak for a afternoon. Then rinsem out real good. Problem solved. Thats what i did right after i got them. The rapala raps are just fine also.

I use ones that are normally sold privately on eBay.  I actually just ordered more, I bring my dog fishing with me a lot and after she hooked herself walking on a lure once I decided it was a wise investment.
