Super User ww2farmer Posted March 18, 2016 Super User Posted March 18, 2016 It's fairly new cutting edge technology where they bearings have bearings. I bet the box lid hinges on bearings too. 2
ckelly Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 OK,.. For the heck of it, I ordered 2 different kinds of reels out of China to put them through the test. One is the higher level Shishamo. (Not the red one-- mine is black carbon) I am about to go put some line on these and put them through the tests. Will share updates. The drag tension max seems to be the biggest difference comparing it to, say a Revo. I would have attached pictures to this post, but image size is too big for this forum allowance. 2
ckelly Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Update.. spooled 15 lb line and tied on a 1/4 Oz trap. The reel is only 1/2 Oz more than revo, so not noticeable while using. A slight flick of the wrist, and it casts a mile. Actually caught a 2 lber while testing. No issues reeling under pressure. Slight gear chatter when putting the whip to it trying to see how far this thing casts. No big deal. So my summary.. reel feels good. . Casts farther than my revo, and had no complaints. I just will have to see how long it holds up. It may fall apart tomorrow, or go for a while. Well see. 1
Ridi620 Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 @ckelly I am really debating buying 1 of these. I mean worse case im out $40 bucks and if its a good reel and last long and catches fish, then what a steal!

No big deal. What is gear chatter? There aren't any gears engaged when casting a typical baitcast reel. So, what is chattering? 2

So, what is chattering? That's the sound of Mr. Shishamo's teeth; as he's laughing so hard on the way to the bank....unless its all those bearings rattling around in there 4
Super User Master Bait'r Posted April 7, 2016 Super User Posted April 7, 2016 Lol at 18 bearings. Do they just open up the side plate and dump bearings in like they're loading a Red Ryder BB gun? 2
Super User J Francho Posted April 7, 2016 Super User Posted April 7, 2016 Let's see.... 4 on the knobs 3 on the drive shaft (frame, side plate, and AR) 3 on the spool (palm side, frame, behind the engage pin, below the tension cap) 2 on the worm gear You could possible double up on the spool, so that's two more. Another for to align the pinion when engaged. That gets me to 15. I'm lost on the rest.
tstraub Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Maybe the put a couple redundant AR bearings in there in hopes that at least one of them catches?
Super User J Francho Posted April 7, 2016 Super User Posted April 7, 2016 AR bearings are pretty bulky. I doubt it.

Super User J Francho Posted April 8, 2016 Super User Posted April 8, 2016 Are they lucky bearings? I'll take all the help I can get! 1
