Any body fish any tournaments. I do 2 local ones. 1 invite only and 1 local  bar tournament. my partner moved to Florida looks like I might be going solo this year.

I might fish the Erie Canal Derby, but is that tournament you're in boat only? Or can you fish off of shore or kayak?

Man you're have quite a day Jigger! I love that dark one with the stripes. Smallmouth are just the coolest aren't they? Are you finding them deep right now or is it shallow where you're fishing? I marked a lot on dropoffs when I was out the other day. Went from like 10' down to 20+' and they were all suspending over the deep water but hanging at that 10' depth. That was the spot next to the Thruway I was fishing the other day and I drove right by it on the way home (on the Thruway) and a guy was fighting a fish. I went by there again yesterday morning on the way to work and another guy was landing one at that same spot. Kind of cool to see guys landing fish on my drive to work at 60mph.

Today is absolutely gorgeous! I work outside, so this is wonderful, but I'd rather be fishing. ?

Good luck out there!

Hey guys great conversation.  I'm not looking for anyone's honey hole but I'm always looking for places close by to fish as well. I've tried fishing the Erie Canal numerous times over the years and never caught squat.   I've tried around ship'n shore and upstream on tonawanda creek.  Also tried around Amherst near the veteran park launch off Brendon rd.  Never seem to catch anything.  Always looking for someplace close to fish in Amherst and catch some bass. Was thinking about taking the kayak out towards Lockport direction to give that a shot.  Just wondering if it's worth trying or if it's a lost cause.  Plenty of other places to catch fish but it seems like there should be fish in there but I never have any luck.   Thx!

did anyone ever try the pond in sheridan park? is fishing even allowed?

Yes. Only if you don't get caught. I used to fish them a few summers ago, at night.  The good ponds are on the actual golf course and they don't allow it, but I don't see why not when it's dark out. There's some weird stuff in some of those ponds though... both fish and other things.

I fished the lower Niagara yesterday. I started at Devil's Hole and worked my way down to the power authority. Came up empty handed, not even a bite.

Not sure where I'm headed today but hopefully I have better results.

Those are nice. Upper River...where abouts(exact location not needed), Niagara Falls?

Bike path along river. I park by north grand island bridge and  walk and hit spots all the way up to the intakes
