River Dave Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 It figures, I'm working next weekend. This is my weekend off now, 18 degrees this morning. Lovely. I think I bought some of those Brush Hogs this year. Walmart had all Zoom baits on sale so I bought a bunch of different stuff, not even sure what all I have. Quote

River Dave Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 I found the picture I was looking for the other day. This is the one my buddy caught last Spring at the overflow pond in Ellicott Creek Park. The other one she's holding is a much better representation of the average size fish there. This was a double header, she caught the little one and my friend caught the big one. Knowing him they were probably using worms at the time (like real worms, not artificial). 2 Quote
Justjigger Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Got this one on a spinner while going for steelhead down in whirlpool Couple of strawberry island smallies I nabbed in a tournament 2 Quote
Justjigger Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Soon as the weather breaks im at that pond or at my dock which is on the river in a smallmouth hot spot. When it calms down im on the boat searching for them. Smallmouth fishing is by far my favorite. Monster carp, largemouth, smallmouth and sheepheads..... my back yard is one of my favorite spots 2 Quote

Justjigger Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I've been trout fishing at openhiem pond the last few days, doing well getting 3 to 4 browns each time. Perfect frying pan fish Quote
Hurricane Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Have a vacation house on Oneida Lake this summer for a week.. Looking forward to hopefully catching a lot of fish... Never been there before... Going to be nice to wake up and walk out the back door to the lake and fish off the dock before going out in the boat for the day.. 1 Quote

River Dave Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Justjigger is livin' the dream there, what a set up! What part of the River are you on Jigger, Tonawanda, Grand Island, N.T?? We may have enough guys fishing the River to put something together this year, maybe some kind of meet up day or tournament of some kind. I was wondering the other day if any of us have been fishing the same place (like that pond at Ellicott Creek Park) at the same time without knowing it. It seems like every local guy on here fishes that spot so it's probably happened. Pretty nice day today but I have too many chores so it's a bust for me. Hopefully can find some time Mon/Tues to get out for a little while. Quote

River Dave Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Just drove past Lake Erie and the Niagara River on the way to work, both were like glass. There were a couple boats already on the water and three more going in at the boat launch. I'm so jealous. Quote
