I always carry a bag of the big paddle tail 10" grape Producto worms since they are buoyant and have a different action than any other worms...They also make a really good bait called the Buzz Shad. It is a swimbait/Fluke Hybrid with a burner or Ultra Vibe spped worm tail that floats on the pause....They are inexpensive and hold up well. They also come through cover as well as any other worm and something about that grape translucent color makes them work really well on certain days...I see the 12 Fathom baits around but have not tried them yet, I won't be doing much Saltwater for a while....

Just curious; where do you find 10" or 12" Producto worms?

My issue with 10" worms is that they are heavy enough they can tear off the hook with an aggressive cast.  I save the 10" worms for those occasions when I am pitching less than 40' or so.  I don't know about pitching the Culprit Fat Max worms, but I know that they work on jika rigs with a 4/0 hook.

Mann's makes a paddle tail worm in two different sizes and I've had the same issue with the larger size of that worm, i.e. it is heavy enough that it will tear off on the cast.

I catch some big ol fish on the Mann's Jelly worm in the 12inch. Personally I fish them on the Pumpkin ED jig heads from YUM.

Producto's web site direct. Producto's do have a unique squishy feel but at the same time are tough.

Primetime, I saw the buzz shad too. Ordered some along with the worm. Thanks.

I see the 8" tournament worm, don't see anything longer.....?

Strembridge Flip Tail worms were very similar looking to Producto worms.

Producto makes a great 10", 12" straight tail worm with a paddle tail...The Yum 10" mighty worm is great, if you don't like the tails getting wrapped, The Culprit Fat Max comes in a few sizes that are designed for flipping weeds and the tails do not get twisted, GYB makes a great curly tail finesse worm that is 8-10" long...

I use the Producto worms which come in a huge bag for like $5...They are an OEM that makes awesome baits, we see many of their baits under other labels, but Producto sells on their site and DIcks used to carry them, but I love their bigger worms...Mizmo Scorpion worms are cheap as well on Hagens Fish *, that worm looks great and while there grab some brand name treble hook, worm hooks, jigheads half the price as Barlows or any other place online, some pricing is better than Wholesale from Maurice etc....

Thanks for posting that. I just ordered four bags of the 8" Tournament Worm. You should get a commission! :)

Brannans is not 5 minutes from me. :) Very close to Pat Mays Lake.

Very nice and knowledgeable people at Brannans as well.

A lot of people around here are into fishing or at least the husbands are.

For giant worms 10" to 16" I use my jig rods 5 or 6 power fast action with 14lb FC and Owner 5103 hook size 5/0 or 6/0 usually with 1/4 to 1/2 bullet weight same color as the worm rigged weedless.

This was my first cast with a Rage Tail Anaconda.  It flew an impressive distance.   My heaviest (well, non-surf) rod is only a M so I was trying to make up for it with a ton of force.  Now I just give them a gentle flip and find they go decently far.

I had a two of their 7" Pro Snake lures in my sample bag, both were hit on their first cast.   I lost one to a biteoff and landed the second.  Within five or six casts it was hit again and bit off.   I am going to order more just as soon as I can figure out how to rig them to get better hook-ups.  I was t-rigging them sideways, they moved a ton even with a super slow retrieve.

Currently rigged on a 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG. Might hit the Walmart on the way out tomorrow and pick up some 5/0.

I am with wrb/Tom I don't  see any 10"-12" worms on producto site.

I do see a lot of slightly unique soft plastics that I really like & need to try  tho!

like the 2 back packs i have stuffed with soft plastics aren't enough allready!!

Fatter worm, Strike King has the Bull Worm, but if you are looking for a skinny more trickworm like bait go for the Netbait Super T-Mac.

The Tournament Ripple 9" is there but it has the ribbon tail the OP didn't want.

For those that have trouble slinging the large worms off finesse the cast a little. Paul Elias throw these worms successfully. ;)  Its not the same as a crankbait etc where you can just sling the hell out of it and not expect it to possibly move a little. It is a long soft skinny piece of plastic and has to be treated that way. As with all different baits techniques are different including the cast.

The Mann's 12" Jelly Worm with hardnose is a option that would give a little more strength at the hook. This is the Hardnose version that is not the same as the identical in appearance The Original 12" Jelly Worm.

Another 10" option with the paddle tail would be the http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Uptons_UC_Worm_10_8pk/descpage-UPTUCWM.html. I have no experience with the UC Worm but maybe someone else does.

Here are a few no name brand on ebay.

With the bps stick o worms 7 1/4" (senko type) monster size make sure you use a larger hook. I would measure it for a hook and go up one size larger.

I tried one with the only hook I had. At the droppoff i seen a very large bass with my stick o and line hanging out of his mouth. I waited to set the hook. I misses it. I was two items short of a happy meal.

Motto,  when going to use new plastics check for the hook size before you go to use them. I paid the price.

I named the bass that got away George Burns the stick o was his cigar.

Never had a problem with any of the bigger zoom worms. I fish them on a magnum shakey head most of the time or a 5/0 worm hook I don't like the ewg hooks on a big worm.  The super tmac is all I throw on a shakey head. I don't cut it down any and you'll still catch 12 inch fish on that big worm but you'll attract the attention of some full grown spots
