Z-man baits and plastic bags...

I am NOT going to mix Z-man plastic baits with other non-Zman baits so I don't need to have that question answered.  I do want to know if anyone has had any problem keeping Z-man plastic baits in PLASTIC BAGS from other bait companies?  Thanks

I have.  The wrong chemical residue in the bag can wreck havoc.  I'm no chemist, so this is as far as I go.

Fun experiment - dip something with Elaztech in JJ's Magic.  Double-dog-dare you.

I want to take a larger bag of mixed shaped, same color Z-man baits.  Easier organization in my bag.

That's a great question.  The bags themselves won't hurt ElaZtech plastics, but the residue from the other plastics might.  Over extended periods of time, the ElaZtech baits could affect the bag itself depending on the structure of the bag - for instance, the zipper could detach from the bag, or the films in the bag could delaminate.  Our bags are ElaZtech-proof and utilize a special adhesive to attach the zipper as well as a certain type of barrier film in the bag itself.  If you're looking for a way to store more ElaZtech baits together, you can use a ziplock freezer bag and should not have any issues!

On the water I carry multiple rigged Zman baits in either the double sided 3450 or 3449 planos (readily available), with a couple of holes drilled over each spot so baits can be put away wet. I have also used the really cheap planos with the old school snaps that I see on a deal at Menards every so often, these do warp after a few months, but since I am just using it to keep them away from others I am not too picky, and at the price I paid not worried about tossing them. Last thing I do is put a bit of paper towel in the bottom of each compartment to help with the water issue when baits are stored wet.

I have had some of your baits in plastic sandwich baggies for almost two years with no issues.  I have never needed more that a few of any given type or color in a given day so it seems silly to lug whole bags around.  

I have switched to storing my Ned/finesse baits in the same box as the poster below. The connivence of it is too great to resist.  I can carry a long days worth of lures in a small fly fishing chest pack.  

I really wish you guys would partner with someone to make a durable hard case that is safe for your baits.   With the durability of eleztech, one could carry a huge assortment of plastics in even a small 3600 sized box.  As a bank/kayak fisherman, I would pay a substantial markup over a normal Plano box for something like that.

One of those boxes I have had baits in it for over 8 months and it hasn't started to warp yet, have yours warped? agreed though, a bigger box would be nice. I do like the grey double decker guide series boxes, I would guess that it is the same plastic though.

hI have stored different Z-man baits together in one sandwich bag for a few months and they are fine. I make sure they are new and do not have any oil or scent on them, but I have a bag that contains some Zinkers, Flukes, and finesse worms that have not bled or stuck together....I don't think they bleed, at least as long as it is all elaztach.

I can say 100% that sandwich bags keep them fine, I like to fish alot of green pumpkins, so I keep the frog, finesse worm, flukes, and craws together, and I think I have some grubz in the bag...I don't put purples in with green pumpkin, but I tend to only buy browns, black and blue, and really that is it with some watermelon..I think they key is keeping them out of the heat, I always store them in a cool spot, and only bring 3 baits in each category, one bait lasts forever, same with all the strike King Zero baits.

We have explored (and are continuing to look into) options for ElaZtech-proof boxes, but so far, everything we've seen has been far too expensive.  Thanks for the input, and we'll continue to look into this!

Some of our colors do bleed, so we would recommend storing different colors separately.
