I just received my new Shimano Stradic FK 2500 from T.W. today. My question pertains to the extra washers that came with it to adjust how the line lays onto the spool. What is the reccomended use for them? Add a washer? Dont? I don't wanna spool up and find it isn't what I expected then have to remove and re-spool it all.

Most of the time I have to remove one washer to get a even line lay right out of the box, recently some brands I don't get an even line lay no matter what....    They can lay o.k. with braid but be completely out of wack with mono.

I don't know much about the newer models but never I have needed to make any adjustments to my spinning reels, all lay the line evenly right out of the box.

I've never needed to add washers to either my Saharas or Symetres. Each reel comes with several in a plastic bag, but I find the spool position to be just fine, right out of the box. My instruction sheets also give details about using the washers if need be.
