Chance_Taker4 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Our of this list which would you use for deep cranking and small hard swimbait Abu Garcia Orra 2 winch BPS Revolution BPS Carbonlite Diawa Exceler Lews Speed Spool LFS Quantum Accurist I'm leaning towards the Lews or the Carbonlite. Quote
bwell Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Lew's or the BPS Carbonlite, you cant go wrong with either one. Quote
robster80 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 out of those carbonlite. hav u considered a shimano caenan Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 1,2,3,5 are all built on the same platform : pick your poison. The exceller is decent at the price point. I'm not as down on quantum altogether as some, but not a fan of the lower end offerings. If you can wait get a PQ next time they're on sale. 2 Quote
SMITTY0045 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Personally I like the Orra and Speed Spool. Either reel would be great Quote

If you look on Ebay you can find new Daiwa Tatula reels for around $94. You could probably do the same with the other reels you are considering. My suggestion don't pay retail price. 2 Quote
Lawsonfishing1 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I suggest the lews. I swear by them they are the best feeling reels for the money imho. 1 Quote
brantley5 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 The Speed Spool LFS is a great real, especially for the price point. I'd also check out the new Shimano Caenan. I handled some at the Bassmaster Classic Expo and they seem like fine reels. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted March 11, 2016 Super User Posted March 11, 2016 The Lews has an aluminum frame, the Caenan has a graphite frame, that alone seals the deal, stay away from the Caenan. I'd also point out the Pflueger Supreme as a choice, I have 2 Supreme XT reels, awesome reels but the Lews is the same price with an Aluminum frame but weighs almost a full ounce lighter than most of the other reels and it is less than the graphite framed reels as well, that right there tells me nothing can touch it for the price. Super User burrows Posted March 11, 2016 Super User Posted March 11, 2016 Shimano caenan 2016. 33 minutes ago, crankzilla said: Shimano caenan 2016. I have a lews LFS got it when they came out I'll trade it for a new caenan any day. The lfs is a well built reel and will probably out last the caenan but the shimano will be smoother and cast farther with less backlash here's a pic of my LFS bellow my old caenan is no longer in working condition but I loved that reel.
