TxHawgs Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 If rod glove does anyone use the pro neoprene ones and do you like them? Also with rod glove are you buying xl for anything over 7' I want it to come close to the reel. Thanks Quote
tbone1993 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 No on the neoprene, though I may get a few for long term storage. I use the XL on my big poles 7f6 and above. I have one for my 7ft3. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted March 10, 2016 Super User Posted March 10, 2016 Rod glove for rods and reels. Great product. Their sizing is weird. Any rod that is over 7'2 get the XL Rod sock that I think is for rods 8'5" and above. Reel covers are top notch, too Quote

Super User buzzed bait Posted March 10, 2016 Super User Posted March 10, 2016 rod glove or stick jackets work fine for me, my only issue with the rod sox is that big chunk of rubber on the bottom of them is a little too heavy for some of my spinning rods. Quote
blckshirt98 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I have some of the neoprene ones and the only negative I can find on them is that they're heavy, and whenever I try to put them on a ML rod i feel like the rod might snap if I'm not careful. If you fish in the rain and they get wet they would probably be horrible to deal with. They're really nice though. For the mesh ones you can make your own for dirt cheap, and they'll be custom fit for your rods. The branded rod sleeve companies just take generic cable sleeves and stick a label on them. You can also find some generic ones for cheap on eBay if you don't want to do the cutting/sealing yourself. http://www.boatus.com/fishing/articles/rolling-your-own-rod-sleeves.asp 2 Quote
