Rain Rain Go Away

Do you guys fish in the rain? If so what do you wear and what do you throw? Any precautions you need to take with your equipment?

I look forward to fishing in rain unless it's really cold or windy. I have a BPS 100MPH suit or Frogg Toggs depending on the temps. Fish usually get more aggressive during the rain so I'm typically covering water with a moving bait of some sort. If it's raining really hard it's never a bad idea to go home and open your reels up so they can dry and open your boxes up so they can dry out as well.

I've got to agree with bluebasser86's post pwahmy.  The fish are already wet, and there always seems to a period where they aggressively feed.  And I think it's important to keep your feet dry and warm.  This will extend your time on the water when it's raining.  BTW any extra rain, please send it to California.  Good fishing, JB

When it rains I usually carry a scoop in the boat with me.  It comes in handy for older boats with leaks also.

Too much lightning in my area.  Rains lately (especially today) are more like deluges!  The kind where you can't see where you are going .  

 

A guy guy and his son took refuge on the porch of a camp houseboat on the river( a place I normally wait out a heavy rain) and lightning struck and killed both .  

    Kind of gave everyone the chills.

Last year I had great success on a River2Sea S waver 168S when it rained. Not sure what it was, I'd glide it a couple inches under the service and it produced. I also like burning a spinnerbait or swimjig
