livemusic Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 My Tracker has a regular front seat and when I go to the console to run, I can't see over the front as well as I would like, even if I fold the top of the seat down and strap it with the snap. Like when running down a boat lane and needing to come fairly close to the channel markers to make sure I am in the safe channel. So, for those of you who have a tall butt seat or sissy seat or whatever you call those... a lean seat? Whatever it is, it's taller than a standard seat. Can you see under that pretty good from your console? Reason I ask is I just saw a seat that appears to collapse down to the deck when you want to run down the lake. Wondering if it's even necessary. Super User slonezp Posted March 9, 2016 Super User Posted March 9, 2016 Is it a solid post? They make gas charged posts that allow about 8" of adjustment. Not sure if that would help or even be an option. The seat I think you are talking about recesses into the deck. You might need some major modifications to accomplish that if it is even possible. Super User tomustang Posted March 9, 2016 Super User Posted March 9, 2016 Yes the Butt or Bike seats are more compact so it'll to see around them Quote
Super User Scott F Posted March 9, 2016 Super User Posted March 9, 2016 To make the seat collapse down to the deck, just remove the post and put the seat pin back in the hole in the deck. Quote
joefish Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I leave my lean seat up high when running and can see under it just fine. I had the same issue with the seat before I got the taller lean seat. 1 Quote

I replaced it with a small leaning seat and longer pedestal and all's good now Tight lines, Bob Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted March 9, 2016 Super User Posted March 9, 2016 Have a lean seat and can see fine around it either up where I use it or all the way in retracted into the post. They aren't an issue. I don't think I'd ever have a regular seat up front, just not my style. If I fish a partner tournament the forward seat comes out so we both have room up there unless it's going to be a choppy day which then it would stay in just for balance when running the trolling motor into the chop. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 9, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 9, 2016 I don't use the seat at all, it's not even in my boat. So it's never an issue for me, but I'd just take it out before you run if it's not a screw in type. Quote

I think he's talking about these two overpriced gems.... http://www.bassfin.com/Page_2.php A butt seat up front shouldn't obscure your view. Otherwise just take your current seat out of the pedestal pole (if it's the stock tracker solid pedestal). Quote
