Looking to fish the Keitech FAT Swing Impact in the 3.8 - 4.3 sizes  using a Gammy EWG 3/0  1/16oz. ~ 1/8th oz weighted hook ... Do you throw this on spinning or baitcasting set up ? Please list : Spinning or Baitcasting ? Rod length & action ? Line type and size ? ... Thanks in advance for replies !

I like the 3.8" in any color. My set-up is:

7'1" MH Duckett White Ice

Ardent Apex Elite 6.5:1 (LH)

12lb Hi Seas Fluorocarbon Coated

1/8-1/4oz Oldham's Screw Lock Jighead

I fish a lot of shallower lakes, so the ligh weight helps keep the bait off the bottom, even when slow rolled. I will usually catch numbers over size, but it's fun all the same.

This very time of the year - once the ice is totally out - I'll be using a these soft paddle tailed baits quite often. I rig the Keitecs on a 3/4 oz. head, targeting drop offs in a clear water, hill-land type reservoir, for smallies. I cast it shallow (~5') and slow roll it back to where my boat is holding in 20' - 30' of water. Somewhere along the way, I'll get bit. :)

I appreciate the suggestions - besides the afore mentioned EWG weighted hooks , I also have some VMC Boxer jigheads that could work ...Probably not a bad way to fish a Fat Impact really . I see baitcast set ups with #12 lb. ~ #15 lb. FC line appear popular which I can do as well . For grins I may try on a 7' M fast spinning rod with #20 lb. braid + FC leader which I already have set up for Flukes .

With my experience of swimbaits and weed less hooks, I had a lot higher chance of a fish throwing the hook with a medium rid because I didn't get enough on the hookset. That's why I moved to medium heavy with 15# line and sometimes braid with flouro leader.

For all paddle tail swim baits I use a H/F Falcon "Carolina Lizard Dragger " rod with a PQ reel spooled with 50# Power Pro. This setup triples as my frog, C Rig and swim bait setup.

 7'1 MH/F 2 piece Ohmen

Curado 51e

30# Suffix braid

15# cxx leader

I've hooked a few and landed none. I'm still very new to swim baits and need to work on my hookset timing. I use the same rod for senkos, d shads and other heavy single hook baits.

Mine will be attached to a hook, which is attached to fishing line, which is attached to a reel, which is attached to a rod, which "hopefully" will be attached me...  :P

They are the best flappy tailed plastic swimbaits arn't they!

Ok ok, they'll be on one of my MH fast casting rods, either braid w/floro or mono, Trokar weighted or unweighted hook (~3/0?).. Depends on the where or when.  I like popping them over lilly pads, let them drop in a hole then up and over, over and over again..

Johnny Morris Signature Casting 7'2" MH/Fast, Orra SX 6:4, 50lb PP, 15lb Flouro leader if I'm fishing open water.

I fish from weightless to 1oz heads on it.

Experimenting with Kietechs on a 5/0 weighted EWG and willowleaf underspin.  Like the way it looks, but the jury is still out.

Using a 7' St. Croix MH/Mod and 30# flourobraid (sinking braid).  Experimenting with that too...

3.8 or 4.3 swing impact fat with 3/0 - 5/0 spring lock Gama hook. Bait lasts way longer with a spring lock and will use one lure multiple days. Male perch has some crazy orange flakes in it that look amazing, caught a lot bass and  pIke in CT off that color. Just got some sun gill color and some purple, red, and go to bluegill flash.

GLoomis MBR844c + Lew's Pro Tournament + Seaguar AbrazX 17lb

4.8" Swing Impact Fat (usu Bluegill Flash)

Gammy 1/8 oz belly weighted spring lock hook in 4-0 size

And I count to three before reeling down slowly and setting hard

Do you notice any real difference when you use the 7.6 vs the 6.2?

The only difference I notice is it takes more turns of the handle to reel in the 6.2 ...

But on a serious note I use the 6.2 when I see they want things regular speed and the 7.6 when I'm trying to fish it almost right under the surface . I fish it more on the 7.6 than the 6.2 though

And I lied and fished an xrk50 instead and caught a three pounder ... Lol

That thing would be killer on hybrids at times.
