Looking for a spinning  jig and worm rod for my friends/family that haven't or cant use baitcasters. I want something that I can use on the side. Maybe for power drop shotting.

What kind of budget do you have in mind?  I have always been a fan of St. Croix Premier rods for loaners.  Good enough that I never mind using them, but not so expensive or treasured that I will be upset if they are mistreated.

Also, St. Croix is blowing out there old Rage rods.  You can pick up a 7'1" Med-Heavy Fast for crazy cheap...like $70 if you call them.

Above is a good idea.  You might want to check out Wally worlds too they seem to be discounting some Abu and Daiwa rods near me. I picked up an Abu cardinal rod for $10 and I have to say it feels pretty good in my hand. I actually almost bought the light action rod for myself needed to show some restraint.

That might be a good call. I get st croixs pretty cheap so that may be my best option. Though I was thinking of getting a fenwick hmg or something along those lines. Just interested to hear if guys have a specific use for a mh spinning rod.

I have a 7' Fenwick HMG MH/ XF spinning rod that I like.   I think retail on that rod is $100 more of less.   Lifetime Warranty.  One day last year, I made myself fish with it.  It works great for jigs 3/8 oz and less, jika rigs, quarter ounce slider heads, any soft plastic approach.

I put a decent, not a totally expensive spinning reel on it and I don't have any issues loaning it out.   When I go to do the Fishing for Freedom project at Truman Lake every fall, I tell my co-angler that this is the rod they will be using most of the time.   What makes it "idiot proof" is bringing along several spare spools for the reel.   Every so often, even I will screw up a spinning reel spool of line beyond repair and the

easiest fix it to just swap out another spool.  I think that would be kind of what you're looking for - and it is a good rod - you don't feel like you're handing your buds some junk to fish with.

This actually brings up a totally different topic, i.e. what quality of "borrow rods" should you have available and is it a good idea to have more than 1 level of borrow rods?   For me, than answer is yes, but that is a discussion for a different thread.
