Edgar still matches up well with Connor. He's not on aldo's level but he's beat a lot of big names in the sport. 1 Quote

As far as Cormier-Silvia, it wasn't anything exciting, but it was exactly what Cormier needed to do. I was shocked two judges scored Aldo-Edgar 49-46 for Aldo, I figured it would be a split decision with all judges going 3-2 for one guy or the other as I didn't really see either guy as clear winner of 3 rounds. I think Travis Browne and Johnny Hendricks just had their status as title contenders permanently revoked. Lesnar is still a monster and can toss or blast double pretty much anyone. I kinda figured that fight would have gone that way... Or Hunt would have KOed him. Kinda the only possible outcomes. The scoring on the Aldo/Edgar fight had me a bit baffled. I watched it with no sound and had it really even. I was expecting 47-48 cards, and a split decision. It was a great fight. It's a shame seeing Johnny Hendricks falling apart. I guess he changed trainers/nutritionists and who knows what else. I never thought Travis Brown was that good. Most of his wins came from fights where eye gouges should have resulted in DQ. Saturday night he looked terrible. If you have that crazy height/reach advantage and try to rely on looping counter hooks, you're going to have a bad night. Quote
jr231 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Ya know. The first time I watched McGregor fight.. I was rooting for him. Had no idea who he was.. they met in the middle.. Went back to their corners... came to the middle of the ring and the opponent came to the middle with his hand up for McGregor to touch (like a sign of respect.. let's put on a show type of deal) well McGregor touched his hand , and as soon as it touched instantly followed with a spinning back kick.. I thought it was dirty and cowardly. Definitely not someone I'd look up to. Yea im sure he'd beat me up. I'm not saying he's not tough. What I'm saying is the first time I seen him fight he made a really dirty move. And who appreciates that ? Not me.. never been a fan of him since. Quote
Super User Gundog Posted October 1, 2016 Super User Posted October 1, 2016 Did you hear McGregor's latest rant? That guy is out there. The UFC is getting more like fake wrestling. Not just in the fighters but in the way they promote the events. They promote names not fights. Shame. It was a great sport when it started. 1 Quote

I can respect a fighters ability but to me the minute it was promoted on TV it became "fake wrestling" all over again. It had nowhere to go. Unless you get into the soap crap (circus) it gets irritating. When it was new it drew a lot of attention but when filling seats becomes the business it isn't the same to me. Ill take a good solid boxing match over the Kardashian ignorant rambling. 2 Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted October 1, 2016 Super User Posted October 1, 2016 I'm a boxing fan. Have been since I boxed in my young years. UFC just does nothing for me. Don't want to start an argument about it, in fact I won't debate it. I like boxing, so I watch that. I don't like UFC, so I don't watch that. Simple. There are a lot of really good boxers right now. Just wish the arsehole promoters were not blocking so many intriguing matches. 1 Quote
