Sherlock 60 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Been fishing a long time but just bought my first Flippin stick a couple of weeks ago and haven't used it yet (have no idea why I waited so long). What's your best advice regarding technique, tips, jigs, other lures, etc? Quote

DumBassFishin Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I was wondering this too. When and why would you guys chose one bait over another when flipping? When do you use jig, brush hog, beaver, worm, tube? 1 Quote
Super User Gundog Posted March 6, 2016 Super User Posted March 6, 2016 I like to use beavers, worms and tubes in submerged trees and anywhere you need a slimmer bait. Jigs with bulky trailers in muddy water to displace more water and put out more vibration. 1 Quote

Flippin4Biggins Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I honestly just flip and pitch plastics...... I like slim baits like beavers, craw ext nc there are less to get hung up on. But really us gotta try some things, I really love brush hogs, dbombs, destroyers.... I just go and decide this. It comes down to confidence really. Quote

Super User WIGuide Posted March 7, 2016 Super User Posted March 7, 2016 If I'm flippin'/pitchin I use one style of creature bait about 90% of the time. There are times though when I need to switch it up. Usually those are times when I'm fishing clearer water I'll go to something with a few less appendages to help speed up the rate of fall. There are other times I just want a different profile. If I'm punching I'll either modify my bait by pulling some appendages off, or just switch styles to give me a more streamline profile to get through the canopy easier. 1 Quote
