looking to pick a couple deep divers. in the 9-12ft range.  i have narrowed it down to these since i can buy either one locally before my 1st tournament next weekend

has anyone used both of these?  what is the main difference between them, besides size and price?

i know the KVD just came out recently...does it really get to 11ft as advertised?

any info is appreciated

thanks...

Haven't thrown the KVD, but the Staysee 90s are great, and I've hung mine up on wood in 7'-9' of water a few times. Always carry a plug knocker  with these if you want them back :)

Can't personally speak for the KVD but the staysee 90 is the real deal as far as doing what LC claims it to do. From my experience the smallies really seem to like these baits.

Those are 2 completely different baits, the Staysee 90 is a small profile bait, the Strike King KVD deep is an inch longer and weighs a little more. If I'm looking at fishing for smallmouth or in exceptionally clear water I'm going to go with a Staysee, if it is largemouth and/or slightly stained water, I'd go for the KVD since it has a larger profile.

Staysee is good. The kvd is too new to get any feedback. The regular kvd jerkbait did not impress me. The Rapala husk jerk deep diver & the smithwick rogue deep diver both work well. They are both 5-1/2" long if you want a bait larger than a staysee. The pointer 100 dd & the pointer 100XD both are bigger than the staysee. The rapala , smithwick, and pointer 100XD all run about 15-18 depending on line diameter  & line length out.

Thanks smalljaw for your highly respected input too.

I think I'll pick up a couple Staysee's to add.  They seem to be proven.  And maybe get one KVD to check out.

Thanks for all the input
