my favorite rod now rest at the bottom of the lake. This rod had some serious mojo with two nines a ten a few eights and countless five plus pounders. I'm super bummed.   . I'll be by the flea market later . I must relinquish  some rods and reels maybe some swim baits to fund another orochii xx /curado.

Have you tried dragging for it? Maybe one of those big weighted treble hooks they use for snagging alligators that have been shot and sank? Was it to deep to dive for it?

I would definitely be doing everything I can think of to try and save that! Sorry to hear about your misfortune bud.

I feel your pain. Is it really deep where it went overboard? I once retrieved a stick in over 20 feet of water although the water was pretty clear with good visibility and a rocky bottom. It was the best feeling ever seeing that rod waiting there for me. Better than waiting for the UPS man after Black Friday!

if you know where it sank you could have someone with scuba equipment dive for it. See if there are any scuba clubs in the area.

I have a friend that is into scuba diving and he had a couple of guys that contacted him to retrieve some shotguns that sank when the canoe they were using to duck hunt capsized. He ended up retrieving 3 shotguns and some other gear they had lost. He wasn't going to charge them but they ended up paying him around $150 for his time and expenses. The word must have got out that he could help and he gets a couple of calls a year to help find lost shotguns and fishing poles. 

Even if it costs $50-$100 to get someone to retrieve them it would be worth the cost instead of replacing a ~$450 setup

I and my brother-in-law spent several hours dragging weighted treble hooks for 2 of his rods.  I wasn't there when he lost the first one, but was for the second so I know we were in the right area for at least one of them.  Never found either rod.  I should have offered to buy him a couple new rods since he uses cheap Walmart specials.  Would much rather have spent our time fishing.

I feel your pain.  I spent hours scouting the bottom both from my boat and in the water.

luckily I was casting a crank when it slipped out of my hand . Finding that Balsa B led me to the rod. Here' wishing you the best at recovering yours.

setup, might be worth the price to have someone
dive in and look for it.

That sucks. My buddy lost an XX Curado combo as well last year. Went overboard at full speed so we couldnt even look for it.

No . Long story short. Meet my buddy at a smaller idle only lake. LOTS OF TIMBER.  Beach my boat get in his with 2 rods and a jig box. Had my rods laying on the back deck. After fishing went to get my boat wind was blowing super hard.jumped in my boat with my nrx in one han, jig box in other hand.  I said I'll grab my other rod at the landing. So we're idling back. He stomps on it for a split second doin a " wheely"... hasn't dawned on me yet. Get back load the boats. And I say I'm missing a rod. And then I remember when he gassed on it like a freaking yahoo that does burn outs just because. It would probably be very very difficult. To drag for it. Think lake on top of a super dense pine tree farm..  he did give me a Denali kovert. And a lews speed spool because he felt bad. I still havnt quite let go... that emtf was more than just a rod. It had soul.
