So I'm gonna give spinnerbaits a go this year. Can you guys recommend a 3-4 spinnerbait "starter pack"? I fish smaller bodies of water and will likely throw them on a MH spinning rod.

Also so what are your go-to fluke colors, and what do you use when the bass aren't feeding on shad? (Or in my case, there are no shad)

-war eagle McClelland Finesse Spinnerbait

-strike king mini king

-terminator to in your preferred size

I like smaller and lighter spinners personally. They still cast well and trailers can add bulk. But that's just my preference. You may be better off with a tradition 3/8-1/2oz bait if you catch big largemouth.

I don't have personal experience with siebert spinnerbaits, but I've seen them reccomended a lot on here. I've checked them out and the skirts are out of this world.

Terminator spinnerbaits, research the conditions of the water you fish. You'll probably want two double colorod bladed spinners one in silver blades, one in gold blades. And two double willows in gold, and silver as well.

With that said, flukes I generally fish are emerald shiner, white, white ice, golden shiner, and a darker color like a junebug or something. Green pumpkin also works well but I'm not nearly as big a fan of the color as most other fluke users are.

Booyah Pond Magic is a nice little spinnerbait, inexpensive, suitable for small ponds and streams, and you can throw it easily on spinning rod.

I got a Siebert Cosmic tandem spinnerbait last summer with a bluegill skirt..it looks awesome but I haven't had much opportunity to use it yet.

Buy the cheapest double blade spinnerbaits you can, buy six pairs. One 3/8oz in white, black, and chart. One 1/2oz in white, black, and chart. Watch a video on YouTube on how to tune them.

Buy trailer hooks for all of them. Get a pack of 4" Mister Twister chart w/silver flake grubs for trailers.

You'll have every scenario covered.

Fishing shallow? 3-4 foot with plenty of structure? You can't beat Humdinger spinnerbaits 1/4 oz chartreuse white and blue skirt . The skirts are made of rubber.. All white and chartreuse and white are also good colors.. No affiliation with humdinger they just flat out catch fish all year long and are cheap

Terminator spinnerbaits are my favorite. I mostly throw the double willow blade model.

War Eagle, Strike King and Revenge spinnerbaits. My go to flukes are Zoom super flukes in pearl white fished weightless. Deadly.

Agree with this, love war eagle finesse spinnerbaits in 5/16oz especially the mouse color.  As far as flukes had luck with white ice, bluegill flash, baby bass, and Arkansas shiner on fish head spins.

buy what is on sale...but I like to use a Single Colorodo blade in 3/8 for most of my fishing in stained water with a hammered blade and I get one in gold and one in silver, for skirt color, I only use orange and reds in spring, then either white or chart rest of year, I use the trailer to fix color but you can replace skirts and it is cheap, often removing them works well anyhow but overall

stained water- Hammered blade, single Colorodo for thump works well, maybe a black on black...I like a gold and white combo for some reason on cloudy days, and silver on sunny, and I like 1/8-3/8 and fish spinnerbaits Jimmy Houston style meaning at the depth where I barely can see them....I fish Tandems as well but keep it simple, Double Willow, willow colorodo, whatever is on sale....

I use the snagless Sally inline spinnerbaits which I like in grass as they come through easy, but another good one is the Drum Roller by Worden's that comes with the Z man Diezel minnow, brass frame, short arm and you can change the blade...Only a few bucks and is great in ponds...I think I use Bass Pro brand the most, but I have used all the brands mentioned and all are good. Terminator are worth it if you find them for $5...$10 is crazy to me...blades fly off at times and they bend like any other brand if a bowphin grabs it..

Terminator T1. They aint cheap but they flat out catch them, especially in the bluegill patterns.

Arkansas shad/shiner is the bst producer for me in my clear waters.

H&H  No trailer.  Cheap as heck and they flat out catch fish.  You're welcome

Not a huge spinnerbait guy but the Zoom flukes and SK caffeine shads are my picks for a soft plastic jerkbait.

I would click over on to Seibert's site. His spinnerbaits are very well made and durable. You can even ask for them in custom colors and different blade configurations.

Its been posted before but terminators T-1s ain't cheap but will last a long time. The arms don't bend or break and the skirts have built in collars which means they will not have to be replaced every year. I've heard Strike King Burners are good too.

I am not sure where in MO you are fishing but for spinnerbaits I would recommend Booyah Pond Magic in white, SK midnight special with a black blade, War Eagle 3/8oz in Mouse, and any 3/8oz Chart/white with one gold and one silver blade. I spent 5 months in MO and the chart/white worked best in the Meramac but the solid white worked better in the Big Piney.

As for fluke colors pearl would be my first choice followed by albino for clear water. This will change based on where you are fishing but it is a good start. What I noticed when I was there was the LM in the lakes and SM in the streams seamed to like natural colors. The spots however liked the wild colors and I just wrecked them on a tequila sunrise lizard for some reason?

My go to spinnerbaits are booyah 3/8 and some of the mini pond magic ones.

Mid the bigger 3/8 isn't getting me bites I'll drop to the  lighter one and can pick a few fish up.

as for fluke colors... Hard to beat white if you have shad in your lakes if not I just mimic my forage and get as close to bluegil and crappie.... The smoke color works good.
