Justbass11 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 BPS Extreme Casting Rod Model: EXR76HT-T Its 7'6 heavy on sale for $90.00, I was wondering if anyone has used this rod before? Its either that or a Okuma Scott Martin TCS Casting Rod 7'6" Heavy for $140.00 on TW. The price for the BPS Extreme is real enticing. Thanks for your thoughts and advice Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted March 2, 2016 Super User Posted March 2, 2016 The Extreme's aren't bad rods for the money. A little heavy, but I've never had issues with them. The Okuma TCS is also a very nice rod and it carries a lifetime warranty. That might be something you want to keep in mind. 1 Quote
cbass12 Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I own both rods and I'd recommend the TCS. The extreme is a very nice rod, but pretty heavy when you get up to the 7'6" and above lengths. Quote
Poolshark Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I have this exact rod paired with a curado. It works fine for me. I won't say it's super light, but I don't find it uncomfortable either. The extremes and carbon lites are a decent value when on sale. Quote
Allen Der Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 i have 2 extreme travel rods and they are very nice. I'd probably take a Fenwick Silverhawk on sale over a regular extreme rod though Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I have an 7' Extreme MH spinning rod, let me preface this that I usually fish M action poles but the Extreme feels like an absolute broomstick to me. Quote
