CenCal fisher Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 When I was younger I would fish at a pond on the ranch I live on. I stopped fishing for a while then when I went back someone either caught all the bass and didn't throw any back or they died because only blue gill were left. Now with the drought in California I think the pond just about dried up this last summer and only turtles are left. I bought a kayak this winter and decided to start fishing again. I went fishing on my friends private lake and caught my first bass on a long time! It was 2lbs 6 ounces and I caught it on a bomber shallow diving crank bait. I'm going to get a few crank baits that dive deeper because this crank bait only goes down about two feet. I also caught a 2lb crappie on the same crank bait later that day along with a minnow of a bass that was hooked on the side of the face. 7 Quote

I was fishing last week on the same lake and caught a crappie similar in size, but I didn't bring my scale. I think my friends lake has giant crappies 33 minutes ago, Kidflex said: Great job. 6 years is entirely too long to not bass fish. What's wrong with you man!!?!?!?lol I pretty much stopped fishing all together for five years. I would go deep sea fishing about twice a year but that was it. I started trout fishing again last summer and recently started bass fishing again too. Today was pretty fun, I'm glad to be bass fishing again Quote
