Just upgraded my kayak paddle from the aluminum shaft/nylon blade paddle I used last year to the carbon shaft/Fiberglass blade Werner Shuna hooked (250cm). This thing is light and I love the ferrule! The blade shape is very similar to what I have been using, so I shouldn't have to adjust my technique from what I'm used to. Just waiting for the ice to melt to take it out.

What paddles are y'all using? Any more Shuna users out there?

I love it.  I also really like the light weight and adjustable ferrule.  I use mine at the 15 degree setting.

I think it was like $30 from the Job Lot but it's got a nice grippy carbon handle.  Good enough for me!

bending branches angler paddle i found on a crazy sale a long time ago.  my wife has a cheapo aluminum and it's quite a bit heavier.  my buddy has a super fancy carbon fiber one that's crazy light, but cost a small fortune!

Ive got a few different ones Ive been using for close to ten years. I have mostly stuck with the different Bending branches  models but last month I also went to a Werner hooked shuna.

Ive only used it 4 times, but I love it already. So light I can haul gear all day and not even notice it in the shoulders. Great paddle!

I seem to like bending branches paddles the best.  I have tried a few others but I like their paddle design.

Glad to see there's some Shuna love going around! I did hold the BB angler pro and angler ace, and I can't deny that they're nice paddles. I was really drawn to the ferrule and blade shape on the Shuna over the BB paddles, but I can definitely understand the appeal for both these brands.

Unfortunately, it's snowing again here in SE Michigan, but hopefully I'll be able to get some use out of my new motor in a few weeks.

My first paddle was a Werner Camano, and it performed great....howevah, one trip to the beach and it was toast; that crappy latch system rusted up and seized shut in less than three days.  So I bought a Bending Branches Pro Angler and haven't looked back.  No fancy-a** locking mechanism, just a little metal button with an internal metal support tab and bingo.

I have three paddles (3 kayaks...) An Ascend, a Cannon Wave Slider, and an 'I forget but my daughter liked it'. The Cannon is the best: it has a larger diameter handle, has length adjustments, and is built very well. The Ascend is good, and has a hook fetching notch.  The 'I forgot' has thin handles that flattened a little the first season we had it, but it does the job.

paddle weight and length is good, 2 pieces helps me out a lot, and the blade seems pretty good for my paddling style.  I don't pretend to be an expert on kayaks or kayak paddles, but I think mine has suited me pretty well.  Feels plenty solid in my hands while paddling, and the blades can be feathered if you desire. 

The measuring tape on the paddle is a nice feature, I find myself using it on most of my bass catches instead of reaching for a scale... the "hog troth" would probably be a bit easier to measure fish on, but it's an extra piece of bulky equipment to carry with you..

the "hook remover" included in the paddle is about the only negative I could find.  It seems almost completely useless to me, I could potentially see a situation where it could possibly help you retrieve a lure, but I've never found an opportunity to use it.  The only thing it's been good for so far is occasionally getting caught on fishing line or deck rigging/anchor line.  Your mileage may vary..
