Chance_Taker4 Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Ive been watching MLF all season long. i haven't seen Mike in fish a round yet and Saturday was the last event in the first round. Anyone know why Ike isn't fishing MLF? I only watch the Elite tour for Ike. I am partial to the FLW tour but love watching Ike. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted February 28, 2016 Super User Posted February 28, 2016 Just my guess but it seems he is not a fan of the rules, and the penalty he got. Such as the penalty for graphing an area during the break in between periods. 1 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 29, 2016 Super User Posted February 29, 2016 I was surprised to not see him on this weekend too. They still have him listed as one of their anglers on the MLF site, so maybe he just had a commitment or something and couldn't make it. Hopefully he makes it for the second 2016 tourney of theirs... still enjoy the show quite a bit but it's not the same without him. Quote

Heck I can watch a bunch of middle aged, grumpy, lying jerks (myself included) on my own local tournament trails, I don't need EVERY ONE on TV to be like that too. Him and I would be like oil and water, but I still would like to take him fishing, and push him off the boat................. because that would be entertaining too. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 1, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 1, 2016 Entertaining? Yes, That's a good way to put it but he still drives me nuts sometimes watching him. Mike Quote
stkbassn Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Ike is pretty entertaining but I haven't even thought about him on MLF. I have enjoyed it. I couldn't believe Hackney got beat after that unbelievable start. His area must have shut down tight!! 1 Quote

Super User Spankey Posted March 1, 2016 Super User Posted March 1, 2016 ike will be back. He's a bit more laid back than a few years ago. Don't know him, just a fan. Come from the same part of the world. I think Ike is pretty straight forward when he gets into techniques and baits. 2 Quote

I read an article after the selects that wheeler and Watson were complaining that the rules are too strict Quote
Super User Spankey Posted March 1, 2016 Super User Posted March 1, 2016 I would like to see him settle into a show like Zonas or the dude from Boston I think it's Charlie Moore with wide range of guests. Quote

Aren't all three of them really the same person? I suppose his first guest could be Pres. Trump. He'd being claiming he is an avid striper fisherman on the east river while the camera shows him really his spinner backwards with the reel on top of the rod!! Quote

I loved City Limit Fishing or whatever it was called that he hosted. It wasn't the same when Byron Velvick took it over. I watch his YouTube shoes Going Ole and Ikr Live. Quote
River Dave Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 City Limits Fishing with Ike was one of my all time favorite fishing shows. I just liked the format and a lot of it reminded me of the places I fish. He wasn't constantly hawking some product and I find him to be quite likeable most of the time. Maybe not so much when he'd throw a tantrum be it was entertaining so, in a way, even that was likeable. 2 Quote
