Am I the only one that can't stand a really good bass fishing video ruined by the background music? Maybe I'm turning into that curmudgeon or whatever but I want to watch the video, and I want to hear what the fisherman is saying(usually).I could care less about the screaming guitars and such in the background. I actually like hearing the birds chirping, the geese honking, and especially the sound of a big bass bustin a topwater lure.

Its gotten to the point that as soon as I hear the music I'm done. Like I said, maybe it's an age thing cause I used to be a heavy metal head banger but fishin is fishin!

Rant over...

I agree with you. While we're ranting about fishing videos, as soon as I see a long shot of someone fishing that used a GoPro, often on a chest mount, I shut it off. GoPros are designed for close up shots where the subject is very close to the camera. Shooting anything at a distance the makes the horizon "bend" looks goofy and for me is hard to watch.

Welcome to the curmudgeon army.  I won't even buy products from companies who use music I find distasteful in their commercials.

Agreed. I use the raw video myself, except if I need to cover up my foul language from time to time.

At the same time, I can't stand someone rambling on and on like they just talk to hear their own voice.

I guess I'll start the devil's advocacy. I do enjoy music circumstantially with fishing videos, but only certain music that sets or accompanies that atmosphere the video is aiming for.

I think the biggest problem with music in fishing and outdoor videos in general is that it's mixed like crap.

It's typically too loud and doesn't compliment the video and also is usually inserted during inappropriate spots like important dialogue, and or lacking in spots that would be suitable (like boats racing down a stretch of the reservoir.)
