Who cares if it *could* be harmful if someone wants to do it? That's their choice and they're free to make it. It doesn't have to make sense to me, they aren't spending my dough or effecting me in any way. If you wanna vape? Vape. 1
Josh Smith Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I used to vape back when I was a kid. I'd get a cold and Mom would set up a vaporizor in my room. Just distilled water, though. Josh 2

You seem almost militant that "it's easy once you make up your mind." I'll bet those that have heavy addictions to opioids and alcohol should be just fine if you told them to "man up!" So to speak. I don't think you get it one bit. Some people don't have the mental fortitude to make those kind of life choices without professional help. I have friends going down that rabbit hole and you are right, it's tough to see and I have no choice at this point but to distance myself from them because they refuse any and all help offered to them. To group all those that choose to vape as a means of harm reduction to tobacco as weak minded is garbage, having gone through some of these things yourself you should know better! I never said "man up!" nor have I said anyone was "weak minded". I was mainly responding to J Francho, the post above mine. Oh I get it completely. You are reading into posts what you are interpreting the post to read. I never said that vaping was not a tool to quit smoking. I think it is a great option to quit smoking if you cant quit without it. However I still find it as a tool that some have turn into another addiction. On that note I find it confusing as heck that someone would have the "mental fortitude" to quit an addiction to get addicted to another. Seems quite counter productive in my opinion. Everyone may be different but not one addict ever quit without that person making their own mind up to quit. You can stack 100 professionals up with all the data, pictures, and BS, but if that person is still making excuses or hasn't committed their mind to quit you can send your professionals home. That isn't "militant" that is just the truth. We can agree to disagree that is fine with me. Wasn't here to argue just a discussion as far as I am concerned.

I was trying to fix that and apologize, he said that in a response to your post and I clumped them together sorry bud! I will repeat what i said in the beginning, this is harm reduction. Do I believe it's totally safe, no way. Do I think it will save millions of lives by making it easier to stop smoking? Yes. Will some people use it as a crutch and as you say swap one addiction for another? A hundred times yes! Do a little research on nicotine, used in vaping, it is no more addictive than caffeine. The difference is, I did my homework, I sifted through the research.

No apology necessary we are having a civil discussion right? No one needs to be emotional. We see things a little different not the end of the world either way. 1
Super User F14A-B Posted March 4, 2016 Super User Posted March 4, 2016 How bout cannabis oil in a vaping machine?

The two are not interchangeable. Will people do it and try to hide under the guise of vaping, sure. I'm sure the first guy that rolled a blunt thought he was really tricky too!! CBD's is a whole other thing, not 100% sure of how that works as it doesn't apply to what I'm doing but have an understanding that it has some health benefits without the THC.

Some people do this, you can modify regular vape tanks to take cannabis wax, that's a problem... Police won't know if a guy walking down the street is smoking dope or vaping harmless juice unless it has a specific smell I guess

Check statistics on death by methadone as opposed to death by nicotine, your making my case here. At what point in time was methadone even slightly harmless?? It's a controlled substance, a narcotic. You need a prescription and under a doctors supervision. I can purchase nicotine base online. Why do you consistently throw false info here when vaping is the subject if you are not willing to back it up?? It's not funny nor slightly amusing. Someone might benefit from actually stopping smoking and you keep crapping on it.

Not trying to bust your chops, but the last I checked the number of ingredients in a cigarette was a very short list. Here it is. -Tobacco The combustion of the tobacco is what releases the laundry list of chemicals, and most organic matter emits a similar number of toxins when burned. I realize that most brands of cigarettes also contain additives, but not all do.

And besides tobacco itself releases 4000 chemicals when burned, 69 of them known to cause cancer.
