fishincop640 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Hello all, My local bass club from PA will be fishing a 2 day tournament at Chautauqua in late July. My fishing partner and I are looking for a place to stay for that Friday and Saturday night (Tournament is on Saturday and Sunday). Any suggestions? We stayed at the Red Roof in the last couple years but we missed out on the group rate and now they want to charge 110 a night. Anyone have any suggestions or an old shed we can camp out in for the weekend? We are both police officers and would gladly provide security during the night.......LOL. We were also tossing around the idea of finding a campground in the area. All we pretty much need is a place to sleep and access to electric to charge the trolling motor batteries. Any suggestions??? Thanks, B. Mayes Quote

corn-on-the-rob Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 If you google "campgrounds near Chautauqua" you will find I think 2 good campgrounds. I have heard good things about both and it is honestly way cheaper if you can handle the heat at night. Just make sure you get the sites with electric and ample room for the boat. Have you fished there a lot? Quote
fishincop640 Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 I've fished 4-5 tournaments on the lake. I've done well and I've done horrible!! How have you made out? Last time I was up we lost our trolling motor early on day 1 and it spun me out! Think I caught 4 bass in the two day event. Was an expensive trip to finish last place. Thanks for the camping info. We figure that if it gets too warm or pours we can sleep in the truck. 1 Quote
corn-on-the-rob Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I have fished it maybe 5 times, but I did place and qualify two years in a row for college fishing. It is one of the places where unless you find something unique offshore, you have to beat the docks just like everyone else is, so you have to find small advantages since everyone does the same thing. It is one of my favorite lakes to fish for sure. Quote
