brantley5 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Both on sale for $89 on St. Croix's website. Any of you guys have experience with these rods? Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 You gotta be able to tolerate the Rages handle to make the deal worth it. I bought 2 and sold them both before I used them. Just my opinion but there probably better deals out there if you look hard enough. Saying that I own a Mojo and it's a nice rod. Quote
S. Sass Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Use the search feature and you should find the names Mojo and Rage like a zillion times. I have a couple of the Mojo rods and think for the $ they are a great rod. yes they aren't what a "pro" might use but they are far far better than a ugly stick. As Fishin' Fool said and I agree the Rage handles are deal breakers for me on them. Quote

Weightless Lizard Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 The Rage has been discount inured and the Mojo has been redesigned so these are the old models. The Rage is a better rod and more sensitive (sc III) as where the Mojo uses the SC II. The 2016 Mojo's are using SC III and newer guides. I have a Rage and don't mind the grip. I use it for jigs and big worms. Good luck. Both are a great deal. Quote
aprilbass101 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Have both rods in 7' MH/F. Like them both! The handle is different on the rage for sure but if you really enjoy fishing with cork & eva handles on your rods than the rage probably wouldn't be the ticket but it's all personnel preference brantley! Hookem Hank Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 I have a Mojo and I really like it. Great bang for the buck in my opinion. Quote
fishgasm Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 I own both and they're both great rods. The Rage is going to be more sensitive because it consists of SCIII graphite where as the old mojos which are listed for sale consist of SCII graphite. I own both and they're both great rods. The Rage handle is an acquired taste but it's grown on me. For $90, I'd get both and if you have a local Dick's sporting goods, I picked up each of my St Croix's for $75 a piece!! Quote
Brett's_daddy Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 If you call the factory store they are selling the Rage rods for $60 each plus $10 for shipping, if you buy 2 or more rage rods the price drops to $50 plus $10 shipping for up to 5 rods. Quote

Like brett's said they generally have a multi rod discount as well when they close them out. There's times they have a discount like that on their "B-stock" rods as well. The one year I went up there to pick up the rods I ordered and they had LTB blems for $150 a pop $110 if you bought two, or $75 a piece if you bought 3 or more. Had I had some more in my bank account at the time, I definitely would have cashed in! To OP it really depends on what you're looking for. The Rage seems to have had a love hate relationship. They have the micro guides which some like and some don't, and they experimented with the handle that again some really like while others couldn't stand it. If you're looking for sensitivity, the Rage will be better as it's built on an SCIII blank instead of an SCII like the Mojo. I'd try to get your hands on a Rage and if you like the way it looks/feels go ahead and order one of those. If not, go with the Mojo. Quote
