i read the memphis pond hoppers thread and didnt get much out of it most people there seem to be trying out ponds and giving reviews about them...

well i can gaurentee you i catch and release anything i catch. i used to eat my catch until i found a worm in my bass fillet. anyways i catch and release and about to head up to a fishing trip in a few days and im wondering wheres good for collierville, germantown area. dont wanna drive more then 20 minutes really. dont give me a dink playhouse pond or a kids bream pond please. lol

just looking for a pond that holds decent sized bass prefer maybe 2+ ponds or lakes. im wondering what lure to use there ive got 14 lb mono on a 6'6 rod with a shimano 4000fg reel.

if any one can hook me up with some ponds or something would be great. if you dont wanna give every one your ponds adress you can just pm me or something but i can gaurentee you i release every fish aslong as its not ill diseased has a lamprey or anything on it that would damage the pond and spred parasites to other fish. i know a nice lake with 5+ pound bass there you catch em every minute and im the only one who fishes there. but it has a no fishing sign on it now... thanks

Well, I have written about the Grove in several threads. We have a lot of BassResource members that fish this little pond and just about everyone has caught a 5lb+ bass. The numbers aren't good, but the pond has produced double digits, the largest I know of was 11.98. I used to have a "pet" that some jerk took out two years ago. She weighed 10.4.  We have a new pet that several of us have caught, 7.5lbs and she is still there. More generally the better fish are 4-6 lbs. If you want numbers, the crappie will be turning on in a few weeks and there is a good chance you can catch a limit of keepers plus another limit to release!

#2  Nashoba Park was my first "secret pond". There used to be a ton of vegetation, but that was killed several years ago. Back in the day I caught a lot of monsters here and a few guys still catch them occasionally. However, for the past several years most of what I have caught is 3-5 lbs.

Lures? Start with nothing more than Senkos and Fat Ika, then go from there.

The address to the Grove Park parking lot is 1615-1633 Dogwood Creek Drive Germantown TN.

The Memphis Pond Hoppers thread should really be your best source for information and directions to all of the local ponds.  When I moved here, I had never caught a bass in my life and had little interest in doing so.  That thread and the guys (and gals) in it are fantastic.

If you are driving east on Wolf River you will take a left on the west side of the school.  One block down take a left into the neighborhood and follow the road about 1/2 mile to the first left which is the entrance to the park. Park and follow the path on foot to the main pond. That is the only one I have ever fished.

If you follow the directions in Roadwarrior's post or punch in the street address from my post, you'll get there.

Or, try this link... http://bfy.tw/4TZj

Green.  When you park in that parking lot it will take you to only one of those ponds.  It is Grove Pond at Grove Park.
