INbassMAN Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I have a HB 570di that Ive had for a couple of years. This thing has never worked right. It works for a while, then the depth starts flashing on the screen. I have to power it down, then back on. It works for a while, then starts flashing again. I called tech support and they were no help at all. I just realized that I have never updated the software on this unit. What are the chances that would help and how do I do it? I know I need pc connect kit because it doesnt have a card slot. I looked online and the only thing I saw was one that connects to a serial port on my computer. The problem is my computer does not have a serial port. Does that mean im S.O.L. Quote
INbassMAN Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 OK never mind, I just saw an AS PC3 accessory kit that would work, but its $70. I think Im going to go with my original plan of replacing that piece of junk. Anyone want to buy a depthfinder lol? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 26, 2016 Super User Posted February 26, 2016 Have you verified that the units is getting 12V??? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 26, 2016 Super User Posted February 26, 2016 The flat rate repair charge for that model $126.45 if you want it fixed and power is not the issue. http://www.humminbird.com/Category/Support/FAQ/RepairFees/ Quote
INbassMAN Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Thanks Wayne, I'll check to see if I'm getting 12v. If I am, do you think a software update would work? Either way though I can't see me spending much money on a unit that's never worked right. Maybe it's been a power supply issue this whole time. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 26, 2016 Super User Posted February 26, 2016 Known glitches are fixed via software updates. Your issue may or may not be software related. Quote
