I'm locking for as light of a rod as I can get in the $200-250 range, gonna be for 1/4-1/2oz. I'd like it to be 7' and mh-h power. It's gonna be paired with a core 50mg7. I'd like to build a light setup that I can fish all day no with no fatigue.

Look at the AOY or the Finesse Jig versions. Excellent rods and very light.

ALX Zolo 7'1" MH Deputy rod weighs less than 3.7 oz, now available at TW, $210.

Alex has been making my custom jig rods for over 5 years now and highly recommend them.

Does this rod have plenty of backbone to get the fish out of the cover? Sounds like what I want if I could find one in stock. And is anyone familiar with his turnover wait on a custom rod, and his pricing on his customs?

This rod is very similar to NRX 854 JWR.

Call Alex, he offers 90 day trail period on his custom rods, custom price depends on what you want.

If the Zolo doesnt workout here is another lightweight.

I have an Okuma Helios MH/F rated to 1oz and weighs 3.5oz and balances well with core50mg7. Balance point maybe an inch from reel. They can be found for $140 so a bit less than MSRP.

That sounds good but I really prefer full cork handles. I really want a st croix avid but I fear it will be to heavy, because my 6'6" avid seems a fuzz heavy but I have no clue about there 7' rods

So how would the ALX deputy 7'1" medium heavy compare to my imx 7'1" 3 power rod? I'm looking for a heavier action rod. Would the medium heavy be plenty or should I go with a heavy in your opinion? I'm very undecided on what I want
