robster80 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 anyone fished the new updated mojo rods? was thinking of trying the 7' spinnerbait model. with the updated components they sound really nice for the price. Quote
churchcc12 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I'm also curious to see what opinions people have on the new mojos, I've heard they balance better but haven't been able to get my hands on one yet Quote
rawjuice Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I was able to look at some at the store but unfortunately those huge heavy security things were on them so I cant tell if balance was better or not. I am sure i could have asked to have one removed but oh well. Quote

SMITTY0045 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I got one for Christmas (7'1" MH) and I have been fishing for the last couple weeks now that we are seeing more open water. So far I think this is a great rod. It feels lighter than the last generation and they seem to be super sensitive. I can't really compare it to the Avid X, because I've never used one, but for around $120 I think these are easily worth the money Quote

Allen Der Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 i havent put a reel on one but they are definitely lighter and not as tip heavy as the old ones. Quote

I have a Revo SX on mine and it seems to balance very well. As Allen pointed out, they aren't near as tip heavy as the old ones so it's easier to balance out Quote
Justbass11 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I have two of them M 7'0 and so far I like the feel of them. Light and balance for sure. I'm a tall, big guy so I only like to buy 7'0 or taller. But that is just me. But they are nice rods Quote
MDBowHunter Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I have the top water 6'8" MXF that double duties as a jerk bait rod,and I feel it's a great rod very balanced and light. Now that they have the scIII blank they're essentially an avid with different guides and seat. I think you'll like it, I'm going to get another one for pitching.. Quote
cbass12 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I've got the 7'1" MH/F and 7'6" MH/MF. They balance very well and are not tip heavy. They seem pretty sensitive, although I was only able to use them once last year and haven't been out yet this year. I had to send back the 7'6" rod because the tip broke when I was flipping jigs around the garage. Must have been a bad rod because I wasn't doing anything careless and the line wasn't wrapped around the tip. St Croix is exchanging it so not really a big deal. Quote
Poolshark Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 They are a lot lighter than they were before. I avoided the mojo in past because I felt that they were on the heavy side. Looks like they fixed that. Quote
