Hey, when you tie, straight to jerk bait's and top water's eye, (without) split ring.

What is the best loop style knot for FC, Mono, and braid?

Seen Duncan knot, isn't that the same as uni-knot? If I used that knot wouldn't it slip/slide tight to lure?

Going on fishing trip the end of week. Really would like to hear from my buds........

Thanks in advance,

Don't sweat it, tie a snap. There you go, problem solved.

Try the new Trilene knot or a Palomar. I use both, never have a problem. Should you decide to use a popper use a ring.

The by catch in my waters are too strong to let a wire snap work. I tie a loop knot and get rid of all the split rings too.  For me a knot has to be simple before anything else. If it be being tied in the dark or in a hurry as a frenzied school appears right at the bow.  A simple mirrolure loop knot has worked for me for decades and can handle tarpon, reds, jacks and snook so for bass its fine.  Its very fast can be tied in the dark by memory and can be used with even thick heavy leader.

Great stuff.

Planning on using straight braid on other lures.

Mono 12 lb. on some.

Mostly using on what 4-6 ft. FC leaders? any suggestions on alternatives on All fluorocarbon main line? I have some 10lb. FC.

Perfect knot works on FC #20 ?

Rapala Knot ? Good on braid and FC?

Big stripers and LMB are in the lakes.

Thanks,

Before the perfection loop knot had a name I used this knot for over 30 years for tuna and Marlin fishing to tie on hooks so live bait could swim freely. This isn't a easy knot to tie it does take practice to hold loops correctly.

Yes, it works on any size line from 4 lb to 100 lb mono or FC, don't need a loop knot for soft braid.

I wouldn't use a loop knot with braid and a hard bait with treble hooks.  You'll spend more time untangling hooks than fishing.  Use a short mono leader or a palomar knot.  You might still run into some fouling problems with a direct tie.
