Fishwhittler Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 This is a bait that was painted by a member of this forum, but I'm not telling you which one. I took the pic of the bait, so the background is no clue to the painters identity. So can you guess which custom painter painted this? Quote
whittler Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Ben, what do I win if I get the answer? Quote
Fishwhittler Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 Nothing, except bragging rights for guessing correctly. ;D Seriously, I just wanted to see if people can identify a painter by his style. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I'm voting pizz he had a bait that had that type of scale job. Quote
SkilletSizeBass. Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Thats a cool looking paint job...I'll say Stringjam Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted November 2, 2010 Super User Posted November 2, 2010 whoever it is they dip their clear coat.... Quote
Steven Ladner Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I was thinking the Pizz. He does some outstanding scaling on a lot of his baits. Pizz doesn't dip his clear though... Quote
pizz Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 it wasnt me... :-? marc is right, i dont dip. Quote
Fishwhittler Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 I painted it. Maybe that wasn't quite fair on my part, but I wanted to see how well I could replicate another painters style (in this case Pizz). Thanks for playing along! The topcoat was brushed on, not dipped. I used U-40 Permagloss, brushed it on, and let it hang. Anyone else ever "forge" another painters work? I've used other painters techniques lots of times, but on this bait I went a little further to make it look like Pizz's style. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 No fair. So I recognized Pizz's pattern just wasn't expecting a forge bait. I call a rematch with a legal bait Quote
Vodkaman Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I was looking at your swimbait, but decided not to post in the end. I should have. Dave Quote

Captain Obvious Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 If the paint job didn't tip me off the body would. The one and only big M Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted November 2, 2010 Super User Posted November 2, 2010 i was actually going to guess you ben... i didn't recognize that as anybody's style. i've never even seen pizz on here. Quote
