I have a shopping basket full at TW and just waiting fro the spring sale - anyone remember when it was last year?

If I remember correctly, they usually have one around the bas master classic for a week or two.

According to TW, they have a 663 in the fury. $109.99. If you wait till the spring fishing sale, I'm sure you can get it for 15% off plus free shipping.

Thanks!  Has anyone used the new fury?  I hope it has the same balance as the savvy's and extremes -  I don't need the sensitivity.

Memorial Day in late May.  I think they put together a bunch of products on a Bassmaster Classic Sale page (but not all items) sometime next week.

i just went through this researching for a jerkbait rod.....i decided ( and ordered !) the dobyns savvy 663 mf - after reading review after review  after review, this is what I wanted in a rod, and got it for 135 ( used a 25 dollar coupon for signing up to their site )this rod is supposedly worth a lot more than the money .... the okuma tcs and the denali covert were also on my shortlist, and i might still buy them for light purpose rods, and keep them armed with other compatible lures - just to try them out...i found a couple of rods that i really wanted, but also decided on a strict cut off point -  $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

How's the medium heavy fast feel on the savvy?  I always felt that the dobyns were softer or lighter (whatever) than other rods. If it feels more like a medium as others have said on this thread, then that would be the rod for me.

If you want a Dobyns call them up and ask for someone in the shop (530) 671-1989.   They will sell you the exact rod you are looking for and steer you in the right direction.  Those fury's are sweet rods for the cost.

Yeah - I've pmed with Gary and talked to Paul mueller for my other rods. I don't want to bother anyone for a rod of this cost. I only really fish jerkbaits 1 maybe 2 months a year.  I do not own a dobyns rod less than a 4 power. In fact, I only have 1 casting rod that's  medium power (stcLT teaser 70mf). I should probably just go st croix because these are the rods I can drive to cabelas and get a feel for.

my first dobyns...never touched one before....but i'm pretty confident that i'll like it - i hear nothing but high praise about this rod...being from the northeast i have plenty of uses for a med 6-9 ( i mistakenly said 663 - its a 693)....i did see in *** review that a med light 693 was a workhorse, so i'm not sure how this med is going to feel, but if a hawg hits me, i should be alright

I have a Dx745c FH, Dx795 FLIP and a Savvy microguide 734c.  To me, the balance is incredible.  Very light yet still feels sturdy (if that makes sense).  The Savvy sensitivity is not great in my opinion, so I'll know to buy champion or extreme for jig n worm presentations.  Since a jerkbait presentation does not require sensitivity, I like the idea of a savvy or fury for my jerkbait rod.  If it has the same balance and "light feel" - it could be exactly what I am looking for in a jerkbait rod.

You made a good choice. The rod has great balance. Fast action with a softer tip. Makes a great all around moving bait rod but really shines with a vision or pointer. It will make those Mojos feel like a club. This coming from a non Dobyns guy. You'll like it.
