MDBowHunter Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Alright guys who's fishing them and how do you like them? I need to pick up a few cranks for the 10'-15' range and I kinda like the look of these guys, especially the phantom green and the phantom brown. Well the red's pretty killer looking too, but they look to be fish catchers. Thanks in advance for the replies. Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted February 22, 2016 Super User Posted February 22, 2016 They create a lot of drag and are a bit fragile. You wont reach 15 feet with them. 12 or so maybe. THey have a place in my tackle box. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 22, 2016 Global Moderator Posted February 22, 2016 They've been a very popular bait in the Ozark lakes this fall and winter. I've not had much success with them yet, but I can tell they're going to produce when I find the right time and place. I haven't had any durability issues with them or heard of anyone breaking one. They're not going to get 15', 12' is probably a stretch unless you're really launching it or fishing 8lb test. Quote
PAGreg Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I've been really impressed how they bang through the nastiest stuff and don't hang up. They live up to their name around chunk rock. 1 Quote
Brian-S Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Ive been very happy with them, but as mentioned they get to about 10-12' not 15' but knowing that its still a really good crank and has its place for sure. With that said I only have used the red craw color Think its worth giving a shot! Brian 1 Quote
Crankinstein Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 The Rk Crawler became one of my favorite cranks of all time last year, its definitely a top 3 for me. They have a great action, hug the bottom well, don't hang up as much as your average cranks, and they come with quality hooks. My favorite color is spring craw and it works very well in my lakes murky water. The thing about this bait that gets me is that it has the ability to draw huge strikes and I have no idea what it is about it that does that, its not a large bait at all. Every bass I caught over 5 lb last year was on the Rk Crawler. The quality of fish were always better on that bait compared to all my other cranks for some reason. Search my name "Kevin Weber" on youtube and watch my video "catching big bass on crankbaits" and you'll see a 6.5 lber caught as well as a 5.5 and several 3s all on the Rk Crawler. It really is a great bait and I'm surprised more people haven't caught on yet but that's ok more fish for me! 1 Quote
