All of these are real fishskin and with scales ;)

I make lures fulltimes nowdays  and that is my speciality in scandinavia.

Big_bass-man: only few hours. i take skin from fish and let it dry over night between newspaper and under little weight.

Awesome looking baits. Do the skins hold up better than painted baits? or about the same?

I myself like lures with skin that they catch better than painted ones, when they has been bited couple of times by fish...they start to smell thru varnish and everyone know how much better is lure with taste .

And all lures are started to imagine real catch, is there better looking bait  to fish than real skin ;)

Hard to make, but fishes will like these.

One of the big companies here (I don't recall who they are.)had the real skin baits for sale ,I don't think it ever took off but anyway you did an excellent job on making them.

I have seen few bigger producers from eelskin and few luremaker from japan.

And ofcource some artists from your country who make lures from frogs and  snakes.

At bases i use probionate (small plastic pellets with acethone) or Finnish lure varnish (english prochure can found by google: Lakkavalmiste and there cab-products)   and only varnish to top sealing.

It makes hard and clear sealing and works well with my paints (Same producer with all)...ofcourse easier to use than epoxy.

I tried to put staraght link to there, but my postcount isnt  enough.
