WolfyBrandon Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Thing is, Christie mentioned in the press conference that doing something like what Edwin Evers has just done could take the classic away from him. Before Christie found out (looking at his weights for the past few days) I was wondering if he could catch enough to keep the lead. It's tough, but maybe it's for the better that he knows he really has to catch them. Luckily the information came early and he has time... Come on Christie, get that 5th fish!WolfyBrandon Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted March 6, 2016 Super User Posted March 6, 2016 Christie has said all along that the wind would hurt his pattern. He's also caught the majority of his weight in the afternoon. He's going to have a tough decision to make here pretty soon. Quote
IntroC Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I like Evers. It wouldnt hurt my feelings to see him take a classic. As good as he is he deserves one. Go Evers! Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted March 6, 2016 Super User Posted March 6, 2016 I like Jason Christie a lot but I hope Edwin wins it. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted March 7, 2016 Super User Posted March 7, 2016 During conditions that were unusual & much more challenging than most expected, he fished hard, made the right decisions and some critical adjustments. Had his water all to himself & boated the ones that bit. Third year in a row a local angler got it done. Congratulations Edwin Evers. A-Jay 4 Quote

It's Christie's to lose. I'm hoping he gets his home lake win. 10lbs??? More like 16lbs 11oz Sorry, must have missed an update on the weights. I'm looking forward to watching/reading how guys found success in those conditions. That lake looked rough this weekend. Quote

I'm glad to see Edwin win it though. 1 Quote
Derekbass02 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I forgot to see who won for 4 hours and I checked thinking that Christie had won by a few pounds and when I saw. That Evers won by 10 pounds I was very surprised. He deserved it. Quote

BigSkyBasser Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Christie took the loss like a real gentleman and sportsman and his response to the fan who fed the info about Evers shows that he's a class act. Was very impressed with him this year, and as I expected the OK boys dominated! I think it will be A Mart's to take next year. Quote
IntroC Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Of all the pros I have always liked Evers the most. Very happy for the guy. He is definately deserving enough to add a classic win to his already phenomenal record. Way to go Evers! Cristie is a class act. Ill root for him in the future. I like seeing the god guys win. Thats what I like about bass fishing, 99% are good guys. 3 Quote
Super User senile1 Posted March 7, 2016 Super User Posted March 7, 2016 I posted this in the other Evers thread but I will post it here as well. Over the last few years my expectations for Evers have risen. It has been a while since I watched the show, The Bass Pros, but he was always the guy who seemed to catch the biggest fish in his teaching segments of the show. This caught my attention and led me to make note of the techniques and methods he uses. It seemed that he was due to hit pay dirt soon. We have seen him rise and compete for AOY honors as well. Though he hasn't won that yet, it wouldn't surprise me if he did at some point. So congratulations to him for a tremendous Classic win! He took a fairly mundane tournament with tough fishing for just about everyone, and turned it into a memorable, last minute, come from behind win. 2 Quote
