Looking for a new flipping reel and I have two in shop that I am deciding between. Either a quantum smoke or shimano curado, both reels are 7.1:1 gear ratio.  Just cannot decide what I want to get.

I before I got a chronarch ci4 I used my curado Ihg for flipping exclusively and loved it .. I now use it to flip when using light line which I do much less but I caught plenty on it and it won me way more than it cost to it it more than once

The smoke is a nice reel but I have had it act a little finicky with fluro.   If you are planning on running braid than it is a wonderful little reel.

Now I dont have a  curado  200 but I have a 50 size scorpion  and it is a nice little reel as well.  it casts like a dream with fluro on it but i do not get the distance that i do with the smoke.

I would go with the lighter reel, more repetitive motion when flipping, more fatigue.  Either one should be fine, I am sure the Quantum haters are going to show up soon.  (I have two Exo's and love them.)
