Lunker Chunker 88 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I am in the market for a new spinning reel to match my new 6'10 mxf st croix rage rod. I'll be using it for weightless plastics and wacky rigs and maybe even smaller jerk baits. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good reel for this? I would like to stay around $200 and must be available at bass pro because of gift cards I've been saving up. Quote
Allen Der Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I have the same rod. no need to spend $200. get a Pflueger supreme 30 size its a perfect match Quote

If you don't have one they usually have $5 reels behind the reel counter that you can buy. Then a Stradic CI4 is less than $200. I think the reel trade in ends on Sunday. Quote

Fishin' Fool Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I think the 2500 is a better size. But get other people's opinions. Quote

EllisJuan says the FK is even better than the CI4. You can save more money. I have 4 FJ's and 0 CI4 so I can't disagree. EllisJuan did you get your NRX yet? Quote

I have used a NRX and it is spectacular...I am sure you will love yours. I am sure they are worth the price difference, especially considering resale. I just knew if I bought one I would want to buy 4...lol. Sorry for going off topic OP. Now get out there and get yourself a Stradic. Either do that trade in at Bass Pro or Amazon has them for $167 shipped. Quote
Jaderose Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Trade in a reel...get a President and a ton of other tackle. 1 Quote
