b.Lee Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Started life as a Fat-Free Fingerling, Bill Dance Edition Tried going for a shad imitation, I thought it came out pretty well for some rattle can spray job. Let me know what you guys think, any constructive criticism allowed! I have not clear coated yet, also. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted October 8, 2010 Super User Posted October 8, 2010 Maybe add a bit of color too it ? Other than that looks nice Quote
b.Lee Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 Yeah the camera didn't do it justice. The belly is actually white, and the middle transitions to a lite grey, not as a grey as it appears in the pictures. I am thinking light orange belly. But I feel like I am going to mess it up Quote
Steven Ladner Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 That's perfect for a first. Only thing I could suggest would be a kill spot on the sides. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted October 8, 2010 Super User Posted October 8, 2010 Looks good to me so far, I think it was a great first pass. Be sure to post the finished lure. Keep up the good work. Quote
b.Lee Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 What is a kill spot? And thank you all for your comments Quote
Fishwhittler Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 What is a kill spot? And thank you all for your comments A "kill spot" is a spot (usually black) on the side of the lure. This supposedly gives fish a "target" to home in on because it stands out from the rest of the lure, but it looks cool regardless. The lure below has kill spots on it. There are lots of ways to make kill spots; the kill spots on the lure below were airbrushed on, but you could also use a nail head dipped in paint, or even electrical tape. Hope this helps. Ben Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted October 9, 2010 Super User Posted October 9, 2010 I've circled a kill spot below. They're actually pretty common Quote
SkilletSizeBass. Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Looks good. I agree with the other guys, add a little color, to kinda accent it, orange, yellow, red. Nice job. Quote
