Derekbass02 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Its almost here. The lowest temperature in the next 10 days is supposed to be 27 and the highest is 41. The end of the 15 day forecast is 38, 37, and 37. Earlier today I went fishing at a power plant in town. I didn't catch anything but I will probably be able to catch something soon. I want to catch something other than 5 inch Rainbow Trout. Its almost march and its going to warm up soon. Its supposed to rain today or tomorrow. That should melt some snow. Winter has already been to long. I have been so bored I have even tried to catch my pet perch with no success. I can't wait to catch some fish. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted February 18, 2016 Super User Posted February 18, 2016 Man... it was 72 here today and I'm not even saying it's almost spring... Kansas weather will smack us one unexpected time just cause she sucks! Did I mention 72 with 45 mph wind.... 35 mph tomorrow. Yah... 2 Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted February 18, 2016 Super User Posted February 18, 2016 Leave in the morning for 3 days on a heated water lake. Can't wait to feel the tap tap and pull of a fish on. 2 Quote

Super User DogBone_384 Posted February 19, 2016 Super User Posted February 19, 2016 Yep, almost Spring.... That's the Atlantic Ocean, for those interested. 1 Quote
smallie.mike Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I was out 2 weeks ago fishing in 50 degree weather, which is cray for February. A few nights ago the windchill was 25 below zero, tomorrow it's supposed to be 67. It seems like the weather around here is always one extreme or the other anymore. We very rarely have normal weather. Quote

Super User DogBone_384 Posted February 19, 2016 Super User Posted February 19, 2016 Yeah, the cold and ocean aren't for everyone. I'm 300 yards from the ocean on a peninsula, less than 10 miles from downtown Boston. If I don't go fresh water fishing, I can wheel my kayak down the block to the boat ramp and go striper fishing, even for just a couple hours. Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted February 19, 2016 Super User Posted February 19, 2016 It is suppose to be in the low 70's here today. Hopefully it will melt the rest of the ice off so I can get out tomorrow. That deep freeze we had last weekend really put a good layer of ice on the smaller bodies of water. Quote

Buckeye Ron Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 We had an amazing 71 here in Ohio today. Unreal!! The geese that were walking on the ice on the pond behind my house this morning have been swimming in it since noon! Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted February 23, 2016 Super User Posted February 23, 2016 Not in these parts, at least not just yet ~ Tomorrow's delightful forecast: Long duration, high-impact winter storm still on target to affect Northern Lower Michigan tomorrow afternoon through Thursday. There will be 18+ hours of snowfall, with some areas picking up a foot or two or more of snow. Wind profiles are impressive with this system, so at the very least there will be substantial blowing and drifting, and whiteout conditions and near-blizzard conditions at the worst. Updates will follow throughout the day. Admitting I'm not a fan of that little ground hog varmint. A-Jay Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted February 23, 2016 Super User Posted February 23, 2016 It's been spring pretty much all month and we NEED the rain. But on the other hand I'm glad I have to contend with all that ice and a set bass fishing season that some of you deal with. Water this past Saturday hit 59.2, air temp was 70.... Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted February 24, 2016 Super User Posted February 24, 2016 Spring is not here offically in WNY until I am too busy at work to fish everyday...............well I still fish every day, but just not all day. Quote
Derekbass02 Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 Fishing season opens on the fist Saturday of may which this year is may 7th I might get to fish for panfish before that since we can fish for panfish all year. In Chequamegon Bay pike season is open all year so I also might be able to fish for those a bit. Why does this have to be as bad as it can be for fishing season starting. First saturday of my is on the 7th as well as the leap year. Quote
Derekbass02 Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 It is supposed to be 47 tomorrow. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted February 27, 2016 Super User Posted February 27, 2016 Can't wait to do some sight fishing for some fatties, in the crystal clear lake near my house! Woot woot Quote
